Awesome Inc, [1] also known as We Are: Awesome Incorporated, is an American animation studio founded in 2006 by Ashley Kohler and Drew Tyndell. Located in Atlanta, Georgia, Awesome Inc does both commercial and series production. Its clients include FX Networks, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, [2] Nickelodeon, Wieden+Kennedy, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Marvel. [3]

The studio's series productions include Adult Swim's Aqua Teen Hunger Force , Squidbillies , 12 oz. Mouse , Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell , and Birdgirl . As of 2021, Awesome Inc has commenced work on two projects for Paramount Global: a reboot of Ren & Stimpy , [4] [5] and a spinoff of MTV's Daria , entitled Jodie. [6]

History

Launched in 2006, Awesome Inc began as a motion design studio, primarily focused on the creation of promos, commercials, and network packaging. In 2011, Awesome Inc became the studio of record to animate and composite Adult Swim's satire-comedy Squidbillies , which continued to run for another 10 seasons before concluding in November 2021. Awesome Inc also animated and composited 4 seasons of Adult Swim's Aqua Teen Hunger Force . [7]

Upon the departure of Drew Tyndell as Creative Director and co-owner in 2013, Awesome Inc became a certified woman-owned business led by Ashley Kohler as President / CEO. [8] In February 2021, Awesome Inc was tapped by ViacomCBS to produce its first animated feature film Jodie. [9]

He is the creator of the animated television series The Ren & Stimpy Show, which was highly influential on televised animation during the 1990s. From 1989 to 1992, he was heavily involved with the first two seasons of the show in virtually every aspect of its production, including providing the voice of Ren Höek and other characters. In 2009, he won the Inkpot Award.

Williams Street Productions, LLC, d/b/a Williams Street and formerly known as Ghost Planet Industries, is an American animation and live action television production studio owned by the Warner Bros. Ren & Stimpy "Adult Party Cartoon" is an animated television series created by Canadian animator John Kricfalusi for the cable network TNN / Spike TV. The series was developed as a more "extreme" revamp and spin-off of The Ren & Stimpy Show, which previously aired on the American cable network Nickelodeon. The series premiered on June 26, 2003, and was removed from the network on July 24, after airing only three episodes; the remaining episodes were released on DVD. During its run, Adult Party Cartoon was heavily panned by critics, audiences and fans of the original series. It has been referred to as one of the worst animated series of all time.

He also served as the executive producer for Williams Street out-of-house productions such as Sealab 2021, Robot Chicken, Tom Goes to the Mayor, Minoriteam and Moral Orel. Crofford was also the executive in charge of production for Adult Swim's The Venture Bros. Squidbillies is an American adult animated sitcom created by Jim Fortier and Dave Willis for Cartoon Network's late night programming block Adult Swim. An unofficial pilot for the series aired on April 1, 2005. The series later made its official debut on October 16, 2005 and ended on December 13, 2021, with a total of 132 episodes over the course of 13 seasons.
