Parallax Studio is an American animation studio based in Nixa, Missouri, created by J. Allen Williams. [1] The company is most known for the production of the science fiction computer game Darkstar: The Interactive Movie , [2] which starred the original cast of Mystery Science Theater 3000 [3] the actor Clive Robertson, [4] and the actor Peter Graves in his final released work. The game also featured designs by the comic artist Richard Corben, [5] Darkstar was released November 5, 2010 through Strategy First, company website, and later in stores through Lace Mamba Global in 2011. [6]

On March 10, 2012, Parallax Studio announced via Facebook starting pre-production on a full-length fantasy film Everything. [7] [8] The company later ran a Kickstarter to raise additional funds for the film. [9]

In 2020, Parallax Studio announced production on a second independent film To Meet the Faces You Meet, based on the underground comic Fever Dreams by Jan Strnad and Richard Corben, featuring the voice of Patton Oswalt. [10] On July 20, 2020, it was announced that the actors Patrick Warburton and Samuel Hunt had joined the cast. [11] [12] In September 2020, it was announced that Robert Picardo had also joined the cast. [13]

<i>Mystery Science Theater 3000</i> Television series

Mystery Science Theater 3000 is an American television comedy series created by Joel Hodgson. The show premiered on KTMA-TV in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on November 24, 1988. It was later broadcast on The Comedy Channel/Comedy Central for seven seasons until its cancellation in 1996. Thereafter, it was picked up by The Sci-Fi Channel and aired for three more seasons until another cancellation in August 1999. A 60-episode syndication package titled The Mystery Science Theater Hour was produced in 1993 and broadcast on Comedy Central and syndicated to TV stations in 1995. In 2015, Hodgson led a crowdfunded revival of the series with 14 episodes in its eleventh season, first released on Netflix on April 14, 2017, with another six-episode season following on November 22, 2018. A second successful crowdfunding effort in 2021 will bring at least 13 additional episodes to be shown through the Gizmoplex, an online platform that Hodgson will develop for future MST3K works starting in March 2022. As of 2021, 217 episodes and a feature film have been produced as well as three live tours.

Richard Corben was an American illustrator and comic book artist best known for his comics featured in Heavy Metal magazine, especially the Den series which was featured in the magazine's first film adaptation in 1981. He was the winner of the 2009 Spectrum Grand Master Award and the 2018 Grand Prix at Angoulême. In 2012 he was elected to the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame.

Robert Picardo American actor

Robert Alphonse Picardo is an American actor. He is known for his portrayals of Dr. Dick Richards on ABC's China Beach; the Emergency Medical Hologram (EMH), also known as The Doctor, on Star Trek: Voyager; the Cowboy in Innerspace, Coach Cutlip on The Wonder Years ; and as Richard Woolsey in the Stargate television franchise. Picardo is also a member of the Board of Directors of The Planetary Society.

Green Lantern is a 2011 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. The film stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Angela Bassett, and Tim Robbins, with Martin Campbell directing a script by Greg Berlanti and comic book writers Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim, which was subsequently rewritten by Michael Goldenberg. Darkstar: The Interactive Movie is an interactive movie video game written, produced, edited, animated, and directed by J. Allen Williams, owner of the American animation studio Parallax Studio. It starred the actor Clive Robertson and the original cast of the comedy series Mystery Science Theater 3000. The game also featured animations by the comic book artist Richard Corben and was the final work of the actor Peter Graves, who narrated the game. Darkstar was released online on November 5, 2010 through the company website and as a downloadable through Strategy First. It was re-released in stores December 9, 2011 in the United Kingdom and Ireland through Lace Mamba Global.

Jeffery Allen Williams is an American animator, writer, producer, actor, musician, and director. Williams founded Parallax Studio in Nixa, Missouri, and presently continues in the capacity of its CEO. Williams is best known for creating the independent science fiction interactive computer game Darkstar: The Interactive Movie (2010). He has also directed and produced two feature films: the fantasy thriller Everything, completed in 2017, and the science fiction film To Meet the Faces You Meet, currently in pre-production.

Star Trek: Renegades is a 2015 American science fiction fan film based on the Star Trek media franchise. It concerns a group of criminals and misfits who undertake a covert mission when suspicion arises that Starfleet's official military chain of command has been compromised by enemy agents. It was funded largely through crowdsourcing, and the film's producers said they would submit it to CBS as a spec TV pilot. The completed pilot film was released for public viewing via YouTube beginning August 24, 2015.

<i>Sir, You Are Being Hunted</i> 2014 video game

Sir, You Are Being Hunted is an open world survival horror stealth video game developed by Big Robot for Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux. An alpha version of the game was made available on 19 August 2013. After years of no updates, in September 2021 the game was updated to version 1.5 by the external Dutch game development studio Den of Thieves Games.

Peter Pan is a Disney media franchise based on J. M. Barrie's original 1904 play and 1911 novel, which officially commenced with the 1953 theatrical film Peter Pan. The spin-off film series Tinker Bell has continued this franchise into the 21st century.

Minecraft is a media franchise developed largely by Mojang Studios and centered around the video game of the same name. It consists of five video games, along with various books, merchandise and events, and an upcoming theatrical film. Microsoft acquired Mojang Studios in 2014, alongside the Minecraft franchise and its editions.
