Bill Gekas (born 1973) is an Australian photographer that focuses on fine arts and portrait photography. His daughter Athena is the main focus of many of his fine art photographs. [1] [2] [3]

Life and career

Born in Melbourne, originally, Gekas worked in the IT field and got into photography as an autodidact. In 2010, he started a project that showed his daughter on a set recreating paintings of the Old Masters. [4] Three years later, these photographs began to attract more and more attention and have been printed in magazines, journals, newspapers and other formats from then on. [5] [6] [7] [8]

Mary Ellen Mark American photographer

Mary Ellen Mark was an American photographer known for her photojournalism, documentary photography, portraiture, and advertising photography. She photographed people who were "away from mainstream society and toward its more interesting, often troubled fringes".

R. Ian Lloyd is an Australian photographer who was born in Canada in 1953 and studied photography at Rochester Institute of Technology and Brooks Institute of Photography in the United States before coming to Australia in 1975. He worked in television and as a photographer for guide books before establishing his own photography and publishing company in Singapore in 1983. Zhang Jingna is a Chinese-Singaporean photographer widely known as "zemotion." Her works have appeared on multiple editions of Vogue, Elle and Harper's Bazaar. She was named on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list 2018.

Karsten Thormaehlen is a German photographer, editor and creative director. He currently lives in Wiesbaden.

Andrea Hamilton

Andrea Jarvis Hamilton is a conceptual artist and fine-art photographer best known for her extensive series of photographic images of the ocean, natural phenomena and the Kelvin scale. Her work encompasses the long term, systematic collection of subjects within a strict conceptual framework, creating expansive archives. These are retrospectively organised according to common visual characteristics into series which highlight certain themes: the nature of time and memory, climate change, colour theory and being. Her work also encompasses still life, long exposure, landscape and portraiture, street photography and landscape.

Ponch Hawkes is an Australian photographic artist, whose works have been featured in the Australian National Gallery and have hung in the National Gallery of Victoria and the State Library Victoria and written about in the Sydney Morning Herald. Hawkes is considered an influential part of the Australian Feminist art Movement, which was centred predominately in Melbourne during the mid 1970s. Hawkes' work is broad in its scope, including artists, feminists, sportspeople, public figures and candid street-photographs. She is especially noted for her 1976 photo essay Our Mums and Us, which featured her coterie of female friends and their mothers, among them the writer Helen Garner, in a typological style.

Jarrad Seng

Jarrad Seng is an Australian photographer and filmmaker. Based in Perth, his work often mixes with his interests in music, travel and volunteering. Seng frequently collaborates with English singer Passenger, serving as his tour photographer on seven tours between 2012 and 2015, as well as directing many of his music videos. Seng has also toured with American band Matchbox Twenty and Australian folk singer Stu Larsen.

Stefen Chow a Singapore-raised photographer and artist based in Beijing, China. His work is widely published and exhibited internationally. In 2013, Chow's portrait of iconic Chinese artist and activist Ai Wei Wei was awarded at the World Press Photo. Chow frequently collaborates with economist Hui-Yi Lin using extensive data and research to produce long term visual projects. One of their prominent projects is “The Poverty Line", a visual project that contextualizes global poverty. The Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago and the Central Academy of Fine Arts Museum in Beijing has acquired works to their permanent collection.

Siân Davey is a British photographer. Her work focuses on her family, community and self, and is informed by her background in psychology.

Carla Borel is a French-British photographer. She has made portraits and black and white street photographs in Soho, London.
