British Airways Maintenance Cardiff (BAMC), also known as British Airways Maintenance is a major aircraft maintenance facility located at Cardiff Airport and a wholly-owned subsidiary of British Airways and part of British Airways Engineering. It carries out heavy maintenance on all of British Airways Boeing long haul aircraft.
In June 1990, a proposal was made to build a £70m hangar for maintenance of the BA 747 fleet at Cardiff Airport to employ 1,200 people. It was formally opened in June 1993. From February 2008, BAMC also maintained Boeing 767-300 series aircraft for BA whilst a further advance in capability has seen the introduction of Boeing 777-200ER/LR and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft from July 2010. The hangar also has the capability to handle a Boeing 787.
It has a three-bay hangar with two additional 'Nose In' facilities for interior modifications. It is based at Tredogan near Rhoose in the Vale of Glamorgan. BAMC employs in excess of 650 people, in three main departments:
Other BA operations in the area included British Airways Avionic Engineering at Pontyclun, Rhondda Cynon Taff, and British Airways Interiors Engineering in Blackwood, Caerphilly.In 2022 all three subsidiaries were brought under one roof at the BAMC facility at Cardiff airport and was renamed to British Airways Engineering Wales (BAEW).

British Airways plc (BA) is the flag carrier airline of the United Kingdom. It is headquartered in London, England, near its main hub at Heathrow Airport.
The Boeing 777, commonly referred to as the Triple Seven, is an American long-range wide-body airliner developed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. The 777 is the world's largest twinjet and the most-built wide-body airliner. The jetliner was designed to bridge the gap between Boeing's other wide body airplanes, the twin-engined 767 and quad-engined 747, and to replace aging DC-10 and L-1011 trijets. Developed in consultation with eight major airlines, the 777 program was launched in October 1990, with an order from United Airlines. The prototype was rolled out in April 1994, and first flew in June. The 777 entered service with the launch operator United Airlines in June 1995. Longer-range variants were launched in 2000, and first delivered in 2004.
Cargolux, legally Cargolux Airlines International S.A., is a Luxembourgish flag carrier cargo airline with its headquarters and hub at Luxembourg Airport. The Boeing 747-400 is a large, long-range wide-body airliner produced by Boeing Commercial Airplanes, an advanced variant of the initial Boeing 747. The "Advanced Series 300" was announced at the September 1984 Farnborough Airshow, targeting a 10% cost reduction with more efficient engines and 1,000 nautical miles [nmi] of additional range. Northwest Airlines became the first customer with an order for 10 aircraft on October 22, 1985. The first 747-400 was rolled out on January 26, 1988, and made its maiden flight on April 29, 1988. Type certification was received on January 9, 1989, and it entered service with NWA on February 9, 1989.

Cotswold Airport is a private general aviation airport, near the village of Kemble in Gloucestershire, England. Located 4.5 NM southwest of Cirencester, it was built as a Royal Air Force (RAF) station and was known as RAF Kemble. The Red Arrows aerobatics team was based there until 1983. Since 2000, it is used for the storage and recycling of retired airliners, as well as flying schools, clubs, and industry.
Châteauroux-Centre "Marcel Dassault" Airport, formerly known as Châteauroux-Déols "Marcel Dassault" Airport, is an airport serving the French city of Châteauroux. The airport is located 5.5 km (3.0 NM) north-northeast of Châteauroux in Déols, a commune of the Indre department in the Centre-Val de Loire region in France. British Airways Engineering is the aircraft maintenance subsidiary of British Airways which provides support services to British Airways and other airlines. It is responsible for the entire BA fleet maintenance, cabin interior conversions and general ramp maintenance work for both their own fleet and other airlines. It also sends some of its own heavy maintenance work out to other companies, although the vast majority of aircraft and cabin interior work is still carried out by BA Engineering itself.

British Airways Flight 2276 was a scheduled international passenger service from Las Vegas to London. On 8 September 2015, the Boeing 777-200ER operating the flight suffered an uncontained engine failure and fire in the left (#1) GE90 engine during take-off from Las Vegas-McCarran International Airport, prompting an aborted take-off and the evacuation of all passengers and crew. All 170 people on board survived, but 20 were injured.
