The National Liberal Party is the first and most significant centre-right conservative-liberal and liberal-conservative political party in Romania. Refounded in mid January 1990, shortly after the violent 1989 Romanian Revolution, it claims the legacy of the major political party of the same name, active between 1875 and 1947 in the Kingdom of Romania. Based on this legacy, it often presents itself as the first formally constituted political party in the country and the oldest party from the family of European liberal parties.
Romania elects on a national level a head of state – the president – and a legislature. The president is elected for a five-year term by the people. The Romanian Parliament has two chambers. The Chamber of Deputies has currently 330 members, elected for a four-year term by party-list proportional representation on closed lists. The Senate (Senatul) has currently 136 members, elected for a four-year term by party-list proportional representation on closed lists.
The Conservative Party was a conservative political party in Romania. Founded in 1991, after the fall of Communism in Romania, originally under the name Romanian Humanist Party. From 2005 until 3 December 2006, the party was a junior member of the Government of Romania. The party adopted the name Conservative Party on 7 May 2005. In June 2015, it merged with the Liberal Reformist Party (PLR) to form the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats (ALDE).

He was the head of the Romanian Intelligence Service between October 2006 – January 2015 and ambassador to the United States since September 17, 2015. His father, Liviu Maior, is the former Minister of Education (1992–1996) and ambassador to Canada.

The Democratic Liberal Party was a liberal-conservative political party in Romania. The party was formed on 15 December 2007, when the Democratic Party (PD) merged with the Liberal Democratic Party (PLD). On 17 November 2014 the PDL officially merged into the National Liberal Party (PNL), ceasing to exist. The PDL was associated with Traian Băsescu, who was previously leader of the PD and President of Romania from 2004 to 2014.
Cristian Silviu Bușoi is a Romanian physician and politician. A member of the National Liberal Party (PNL), he was a member of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies for Timiș County from 2004 to 2007, and was a Member of the European Parliament from 2007 to 2013, a position he regained in 2014.

Vasilica Viorica Dăncilă is a Romanian politician, former leader of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), and was Prime Minister of Romania from 29 January 2018 to 4 November 2019. She was the first woman in Romanian history to hold both the office of Prime Minister and president of the PSD. In 2014, she was elected as a member in the European Parliament for a second term from the PSD. Viorica Dăncilă was also the president of the Social Democratic Women's Organization (OFSD) between 2015 and 2018.
