The Danish Orienteering Federation (Danish : Dansk Orienterings-Forbund;DOF) is the national Orienteering Association in Denmark. It is recognized as the orienteering association for Denmark by the International Orienteering Federation, of which it is a member. [1]
The Danish Orienteering Federation was founded in 1941. It was among the ten founding members of the International Orienteering Federation in 1961, and Denmark participated in the first European Orienteering Championships in 1962. [2] Denmark hosted the world championships in 1974, [3] and again in 2006. The Danish male team won gold medals in the relay at the 1997 World Orienteering Championships. Among Danish individual world champions in foot orienteering are Mona Nørgaard and Søren Bobach.
Øyvin Thon is a Norwegian orienteering competitor, and has seven gold medals at the World Orienteering Championships.
Chris Terkelsen is a Danish orienteering competitor and World champion. He won a gold medal in the 1997 World Orienteering Championships in Grimstad with the Danish Relay team. He received a silver medal in the 2005 World Orienteering Championships in Aichi. He won the overall World Cup in 1998, and received a silver medal in the 2004 European Championships with the Danish relay team.
The Finnish Orienteering Federation is the governing body for the sport of orienteering in Finland. The federation was founded in 1945 and has approximately 60,000 members.

The Swedish Orienteering Federation is the national orienteering association in Sweden. It is recognized as the national federation for Sweden by the International Orienteering Federation, of which it is a member.
The Norwegian Orienteering Federation is the national Orienteering Association in Norway. It is recognized as the orienteering association for Norway by the International Orienteering Federation, of which it is a member. The association was founded 1 October 1945, and is a member of the Norwegian Confederation of Sports (NIF). Its first chairman was Kaare Thuesen. In 1946 NOF had 204 associated clubs, with just above 7,000 members. The number of clubs and associated members increased gradually through the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, and peaked in 1984 with 630 clubs and 34,000 members, and 35,000 members and 620 clubs in 1985. The next twenty years saw a decline in the number of clubs and members. As per December 2007 Norges Orienteringsforbund had 400 associated clubs and just above 24,000 members, distributed over eighteen districts.

Heidi Arnesen is a Norwegian orienteering competitor. She received a silver medal in the relay event at the 1991 World Orienteering Championships in Mariánské Lázně, together with Hanne Sandstad, Ragnhild Bratberg and Ragnhild Bente Andersen.
