"Diamonds" is the first single from Fabolous' album From Nothin' to Somethin' (2007). The song features Young Jeezy and a songwriting credit from Yung Berg. Coincidentally, the voice sampled on the "Diamonds" chorus is also Young Jeezy, and it is a line from another Fabolous song "Do the Damn Thing" from his previous album Real Talk .
The original version of the song featured Lil Wayne, but was changed due to Def Jam Recordings wanting to have a fellow Def Jam artist on the song. The single was released through iTunes on April 3, 2007. On the issue date of April 21, 2007 the single debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 83. [3] This song samples Jay-Z's line, "said she loved my necklace, started relaxing, now that's what the fuck I call a chain reaction" from the 1998 Jermaine Dupri song, "Money Ain't a Thang".

John David Jackson, better known by his stage name Fabolous, is an American rapper. Raised in Brooklyn, he first gained recognition for his ability upon performing live on DJ Clue's Hot 97 radio show. Jackson then signed to Clue's record label Desert Storm Records, in a joint venture with Elektra Records. Jackson first gained mainstream prominence for his debut studio album Ghetto Fabolous (2001), which spawned the hit singles "Can't Deny It" and "Young'n ." His second album, Street Dreams (2003) was further commercially-oriented, supported by the singles "Can't Let You Go" and "Into You" ; both of which peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100.
Jay Wayne Jenkins, known by his stage name Jeezy, is an American rapper. He is credited, alongside fellow Georgia-based rappers T.I. and Gucci Mane, with pioneering the hip hop subgenre trap music for mainstream audiences. Jenkins began his career in 2001, releasing two independent albums until signing with Def Jam Recordings to release his major label debut, Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101 (2005). The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200, sold 172,000 copies in its first week, and received double platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The Game himself revealed that the song would be released on July 31, 2006, but actually was released on July 24, 2006. The song was originally to be released on July 4, 2006 but got pushed back by The Game. Jimmy Rosemond, head of Czar Entertainment and The Game's manager, explained how "One Blood" would receive positive radio airplay and prove the talent that The Game had. A supposed original version of the song was released in late January 2011.
