Electro Velvet are a British vocal duo that represented the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "Still in Love with You" finishing 24th. [1] The duo consist of Alex Larke and Bianca Nicholas.
Nicholas has appeared both on The X Factor and The Voice UK . [2] [3] [4] She has also sung a duet with Will Young and performed in front of Prince William, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince Harry. [2] [5] In 2011, Nicholas released a single "Hold On To Your Dreams", which entered the UK Top 100 singles chart. [2] [5] She also had a small role in the 1999 American film Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp. [6] She suffers from cystic fibrosis. [5]
Born in Welwyn Garden City, Larke is currently lead singer for The Rolling Stones tribute group The Rolling Clones, and has toured the UK and internationally with the band. He has recently worked with Big Beat pioneer Cut La Roc on his album Larger Than Life, which also features Ice-T collaborator, Donald D and Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody. Larke works part-time in a primary school, and also teaches ukulele and recorder. In 2014 he worked in a special needs school with children and young adults with profound to severe learning difficulties. [7]
On their official Facebook page, the duo thanked their fans for all their support during their time at Eurovision, as well as announcing "we'll be in touch soon about what we are up to next." [8]
Electro Velvet were selected by the BBC to represent the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with their song "Still in Love with You". The entry was presented on 7 March 2015 via the BBC Red Button service. [9] The song received a mixed to negative reception upon its announcement. [10] [11] In the Eurovision final they received 5 points and were placed 24th out of 27. [12]
The staging of the song included two pairs of additional dancers, two of whom performed breakdance and acrobatic moves. The television production involved some Busby Berkeley-style shots from above and darkened sequences during which the performers' costumes were illuminated with integral LED strip light.[ citation needed ]
On 22 June, their debut EP was launched on PledgeMusic where it was available to pre-order, along with many other exclusives. It was cancelled due to Nicholas' continued ill-health. [13]

The United Kingdom has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 65 times. It first took part in the second contest in 1957 and has entered every year since 1959. Along with Sweden and the Netherlands, the UK is one of only three countries with Eurovision victories in four different decades. It is one of the "Big Five" countries, along with France, Germany, Italy and Spain, that are automatically prequalified for the final each year as they are the biggest financial contributors to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). The British national broadcaster, the BBC, broadcasts the event and has, on multiple occasions, organised different national selection processes to choose the British entry. The United Kingdom has won the Eurovision Song Contest five times, and has finished as runner-up on a record sixteen occasions. The UK has hosted the contest a record nine times, four times in London and once each in Edinburgh (1972), Brighton (1974), Harrogate (1982), Birmingham (1998), and Liverpool (2023).
SunStroke Project is a Moldovan musical group composed of Sergei Yalovitsky, Sergey Stepanov (saxophonist), and previously Anton Ragoza until his departure in 2019. They achieved recognition after representing Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 alongside Olia Tira with the song "Run Away", and again in the 2017 contest with "Hey Mamma", finishing in third place in the latter. The name of the group was chosen by Ragoza whilst working in the army with Stepanov, after he had an incident in which he was affected by heat stroke whilst on a field exercise.

Dina Fagimovna Garipova is a Russian singer. In 2012, Garipova won the Russian version of singing competition The Voice, Golos. Garipova was selected by the Russian broadcaster Channel One to represent Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden, with the song "What If". At the competition, she qualified from the first semi-final and placed fifth in the final, scoring 174 points. In 2015, Garipova was one of five jurors for Russia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015.

The Common Linnets are a Dutch band that was formed in 2013. The band originally consisted of Ilse DeLange and Waylon. DeLange has stated that the group is a platform for Dutch artists to make country, Americana, and bluegrass music, and that the members will be changing. In May 2014, Waylon left the group and was replaced by American country singer Jake Etheridge.

Eurovision Song Contest's Greatest Hits was a live television concert programme organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and produced by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest. The concert took place on 31 March 2015 at the Eventim Apollo, in Hammersmith, London. Guy Freeman was the executive producer and Geoff Posner the director, both of whom held the same positions as the last time the BBC hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in 1998. Simon Proctor was the senior producer and David Arch was the musical director for the concert. Tickets for the event went on sale at 10:15 (GMT) on 6 February 2015.
Alex Larke is a British singer/songwriter who represented the United Kingdom as part of the duo Electro Velvet, in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "Still in Love with You". For most of his career, Larke has been a solo artist, although he also worked with British rock bands, X and Manimal, before later collaborating with electronic act Teflon Child and big beat pioneer, Cut La Roc.
