The first Khaleda cabinet was the Government of Bangladesh during the 5th legislative session of the Jatiya Sangsad following the 1991 Bangladeshi general election. The cabinet took office in 1991 and left office in January 1996. The Prime Minister and head of the government was Khaleda Zia.

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party is a major political party in Bangladesh. The Bangla Academy is the official regulatory body of the Bengali language in Bangladesh. It is an autonomous institution funded by the Government of Bangladesh that fosters the Bengali language, literature and culture, works to develop and implement national language policy and conducts original research in Bengali. Established in 1955, it is located in the Burdwan House in Shahbagh, Dhaka, within the grounds of the University of Dhaka and Suhrawardy Udyan. The Bangla Academy hosts the annual Ekushey Book Fair.

Manikganj is a district in central Bangladesh and part of the Dhaka Division. Established in 1845, it was originally a subdivision of Faridpur District. In 1956, it was included in Dhaka District for administrative purposes. In 1984, Manikganj was declared a full district.

Abdur Rahman Biswas was a Bangladeshi politician. He was the President of Bangladesh from 1991 to 1996. Biswas represented Pakistan at the United Nations General Assembly prior to the independence of Bangladesh.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is a Bangladeshi politician. He has been the secretary general of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) since 2016. He was a member of the parliament for Thakurgaon-1 constituency from 2001 to 2006. In that term, he was also appointed as the Minister of State in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and later Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.

National Sports Awards are given by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Government of Bangladesh for specific contributions in the field of games and sports. The award was introduced in 1976. As of 2011, total 175 sports personalities won the award.

The second Khaleda cabinet was the Government of Bangladesh during the 8th legislative session of the Jatiya Sangsad following the 2001 general election. The cabinet took office on 10 October 2001 and left office on 29 October 2006. The Prime Minister and head of the government was Khaleda Zia.

Shah Moazzem Hossain was a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and the last Deputy Prime Minister of Bangladesh. He was elected as the Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Rangpur-6 constituency as a Jatiya Party candidate in a by-election in September 1991 and served until November 1995.

Doctors Association of Bangladesh is a professional organisation of registered MBBS and BDS doctors in Bangladesh. It is politically aligned with the right-wing Bangladesh Nationalist Party. It is a rival of the Awami League backed doctors association, Swadhinata Chikitshak Parishad.
