Hamirpur district is one of the 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh state of India and Hamirpur town is the district headquarters. Hamirpur district is a part of Chitrakoot Division. The district occupies an area of 4,121.9 km². The district has a population of 1,104,285. As of 2011 it is the third least populous district of Uttar Pradesh, after Mahoba and Chitrakoot. Balakot Tehsil is an administrative subdivision (tehsil) of Mansehra District in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Balakot is the main city of this area. It was one of the towns which was most damaged in the 2005 Kashmir earthquake on 8 October 2005 and an estimated 80% of the buildings there were destroyed. Khandeshi is an Indo-Aryan language spoken in the Khandesh region of north-west Maharashtra and also in Gujarat. It consists of Khandeshi proper, and the Dangri and Ahirani dialects. Kunbi and Rangari also are dialects. Ahirani dialect of this language is mostly spoken. Devanagari script is used to write Khandeshi language. The words "Ahirani" and "Khandeshi" are sometimes used interchangeably: Ahirani as the caste-based name, and Khandesh as the region-based name. The Census of 1911, 1921 and 1931 counted the Ahirani speaking people as Gujaratis but in latter decades they've been recognized as a different language.

Darmiya or Darma is a Sino-Tibetan language spoken in the Darma Valley, Dharchula Tehsil, Pithoragarh District of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is one of the fifteen tribes, as stated in The Constitution Uttar Pradesh Order, 1967 in clause (1) of Article 342 of the Constitution of India. Majorly it is called Bhotia; Bhotia is the broad term used in Himalayan region: several communities and languages are considered under this term. This tribal language is the member of west Tibeto-Burman language family in the Himalayan region of Uttarakhand. It is related to Rangas, Rongpo, Chaudangsi, and Byangsi. Alternate names for this language include Darma, Darma Lwo, Darma-Lwo, Darmani, Saukas, and Shaukas.
Gaddi is an Indo-Aryan language of India. It is spoken by the Gaddi people primarily in Bharmour Tehsil of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh. It is also spoken in neighbouring parts of Jammu, with Gaddi villages found in Udhampur, Kathua and Doda districts.
Upper Chitral District is a district in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Chitral River flows throughout the district. Upper South Waziristan District is a district located in the Dera Ismail Khan Division of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The Upper South Waziristan District was established on 13 April 2022 when the South Waziristan District was bifurcated into Lower South Waziristan and Upper South Waziristan. Spinkai Karzai region was declared as its capital.
