The Gold Line is a rapid transit line of the Doha Metro. The east-west Gold Line runs through Doha, extending from Ras Abu Aboud Station to Al Aziziya Station over a distance of 32 km. [1] It is part of the Qatar Integrated Rail Project, which is guided by the Qatar National Vision 2030. It was officially opened on 21 November, 2019. [2]

Construction

The Gold Line metro project was awarded to a global consortium (Joint Venture Company) of five companies: Aktor S.A from Greece, Larsen & Toubro LTD from India, Yapi Merkezi from Turkey, STFA also from Turkey and Al Jaber Engineering from Qatar. [1]

It is a district of Al Rayyan City, which, in turn, is a part of Metropolitan Doha.

The football team Al-Sadd and the Al-Sadd Sports Complex are located here. Rumeilah Hospital and The Children's Hospital are also based in the district.

Qatar Railways Company, commonly known as Qatar Rail, is a state-owned railway company, responsible for rail transport in Qatar. It is owned and operated by the Government of Qatar. Established in 2011, the company is responsible for the design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the entire rail network and systems. It manages Qatar's rail network. On May 8, 2019, Qatar rail started the preview service of Doha Metro with 13 stations on the Red Line, starting from Al-Qassar station in the North to Al-Wakra station in the South. The three metro lines that form the current network became fully operational by September 2020.

Fereej Al Soudan is a district in Qatar, located in the municipality of Al Rayyan. It is mainly a residential area. In the 2015 census, it was listed as a district of Zone 55 which has a population of 283,675 and also includes Bu Sidra, Al Aziziya, Al Waab, New Fereej Al Ghanim, Muaither, Al Mearad, Fereej Al Manaseer, Fereej Al Murra and Al Sailiya. Rawdat Al Jahhaniya is a district in Qatar, located in the municipality of Al Rayyan. It is accessible through Dukhan Highway by road and Al Riffa station by rail. The district is one of the areas in Qatar which allows freehold ownership by foreigners.

Msheireb is a rapid transit station in Doha, Qatar located between Msheireb Downtown Doha and Mushayrib. It serves as a transfer station for the Red, Gold and Green lines of the Doha Metro and is considered the largest station in the city.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Green Line (Doha Metro)</span>

The Green Line, also known as the Education Line, is a rapid transit line of the Doha Metro in Qatar's capital city of Doha. Opened to the public on 10 December 2019, it runs east to west, beginning at Al Mansoura and terminating at the Al Riffa station on Dukhan Highway in Rawdat Al Jahhaniya. The line covers the total distance of 22 kilometres (14 mi). Part of the line runs underground, part at grade and part of it is elevated on viaducts. Currently, the line has 11 stations, but will expand to 31 stations spread over 65.3 km in the future.
