Greatest Hits Volume 2 is a greatest hits compilation album by The Beatles that was exclusive to Australia. The album was compiled by EMI Australia to fill in the gap between Revolver and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band . [1]
The compilation and its predecessor were both originally conceived in early 1966, when EMI Australia requested stereo tapes from their UK branch for tracks not already in the Australian vaults. This meant the album contains the original 1965 stereo mixes of "Day Tripper" and "We Can Work It Out" rather than the new stereo mixes created for the late-1966 compilation album A Collection of Beatles Oldies . [2]
The compilation was the only album release worldwide of the original stereo mix of "She's a Woman" until The Beatles Box in 1980 and the Past Masters collection in 1988. [2]
The album was pressed and distributed through Australia by EMI Australia and through Southeast Asia (Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong) by EMI (SEA). [3] By mid-1973, both volumes of the compilation had sold over 100,000 in Australia. [2]
In 1973, both volumes of the album were repackaged as a double album by EMI Australia to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Beatles first single in Australia. The release was titled The Beatles Australian 10th Anniversary 1963-1973 Souvenir Presentation - The Beatles' Greatest Hits Volumes 1 and 2. [4] Eight different Australian radio stations promoted the album by featuring their logo on eight different stickers. This edition of the albums was only available for a few months before it was quietly deleted. [4]
Both volumes stayed in print in Australia until EMI Australia ceased vinyl production in 1991. [2] The album was released on cassette but never released a compact disc.
All tracks are written by Lennon–McCartney except as noted.

With the Beatles is the second studio album by the English rock band the Beatles. It was released in the United Kingdom on 22 November 1963 on Parlophone, eight months after the band's debut Please Please Me. Produced by George Martin, the album features eight original compositions and six covers. The sessions also yielded the non-album single, "I Want to Hold Your Hand" backed by "This Boy". The cover photograph was taken by the fashion photographer Robert Freeman and has since been mimicked by several music groups. A different cover was used for the Australian release of the album, which the Beatles were displeased with.
A Hard Day's Night is the third studio album by the English rock band the Beatles, released on 10 July 1964 by Parlophone, with side one containing songs from the soundtrack to their film of the same name. The American version of the album was released two weeks earlier, on 26 June 1964 by United Artists Records, with a different track listing that included selections from George Martin's film score. A Collection of Beatles Oldies is a compilation album by the English rock band the Beatles. Released in the United Kingdom in December 1966, it features hit singles and other songs issued by the group between 1963 and 1966. The compilation served as a stopgap release to satisfy EMI's demand for product during the Christmas period, since the Beatles had only begun recording Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, the follow-up to their Revolver album, late the previous month. It was the band's first official greatest hits collection, although the Beatles had no involvement in the album.

20 Greatest Hits is a compilation album featuring a selection of songs by The Beatles that were number one singles in the UK and US. It was released on 11 October 1982 in the United States and 18 October in the United Kingdom and marked the 20th anniversary of The Beatles' first record release, "Love Me Do", in the UK in October 1962. 20 Greatest Hits was the last Beatles album to be released with variations between the U.S. and UK versions. There is an extremely rare 8 track tape version of this album, which approximately 10 to 15 copies still exist today. Legend has it that Capitol Records decided to pull the plug on the release at the last minute, as 8 tracks were not selling well in late 1982, and all copies were to be destroyed. However, there were a few that survived.

Past Masters is a two-disc compilation album set by the English rock band the Beatles. The set compiles every song released commercially by the band that was not available on the Beatles' 12 original UK albums or the US Magical Mystery Tour LP. It includes liner notes by Beatles historian Mark Lewisohn. The majority of the Past Masters set consists of A- and B-sides from the band's singles, including single versions of songs that appeared in a different form on the band's albums. Also included are the full contents of the UK-only Long Tall Sally EP, two German-language tracks, a song recorded for the American market, and a track released on a charity compilation album.
