Education

Kuriakose received a Bachelor of Divinity (B.D) from Holy Ghost Missionary College, Kimmage Manor, Dublin, Ireland. [4] and studied economics at Christian College, Indore.[ citation needed ] He received a Master of Theology (M.Th) from Paurasthya Vidyapeedom, Vadavathoor. [5] [6]

Saint Geevarghese Mor Gregorios, popularly known as Parumala Thirumeni, was a Metropolitan of the Malankara Church. Parumala Thirumeni became the first person of Indian origin to be canonised as saint. In 1947, the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church declared Mar Gregorios as a saint, making him the first canonized Christian saint from India. In November 1987, the Syriac Orthodox Church canonized him as a saint.

The Jacobite Syrian Christian Church (JSCC), or the Malankara Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church in India also known as Malankara Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, the Jacobite Syrian Church, and the Syriac Orthodox Church in India, is a catholicate based in Kerala, India, of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch and part of the Oriental Orthodox Church. It recognizes the Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East as supreme head of the church. It functions autonomously within the church, administered by the Metropolitan Trustee, under the authority of the Maphrian of India, Baselios Thomas I. Following schism with the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, is currently the only church in Malankara that is directly under a Syriac Christian Antiochian hierarchy, claiming continuity to the 1665 schism. The church employs the West Syriac Rite Liturgy of Saint James.

Mor Themotheos Thomas is the Metropolitan of Kottayam Diocese and Secretary to the Holy Episcopal Synod of the Jacobite Syrian Christian Church. Mor Themotheos Thomas was ordained as the Metropolitan of the Outside Kerala Diocese on 3 January 1991 by Mor Baselios Paulose II Catholicos of the East .

The Holy Girdle, also known as the Girdle of Thomas, Holy Girdle of Mary, Holy Zoonoro, (or) Zunoro, and Holy Belt of Saint Mary the mother of Jesus, is a relic of the Blessed Virgin Mary which is one of the important relics of Syriac Orthodox Church and venerated by Oriental Orthodox communion. The word Zunoro is also translated as "belt", "sash" or "girdle". St. George's Monastery is a Jacobite Syrian Christian Church situated at a hilltop near Puthencruz, Ernakulam District, Kerala. The monastery was established by Mor Yulius Elias Qoro. The Malankara Syrian Orthodox Seminary began functioning in this monastery and later moved to Udayagiri. The monastery is the final resting place of Catholicos Baselios Paulose II. In 2019, a retreat house named Khanema Hanna Home was consecrated by Ignatius Aphrem II Patriarch near to the Monastery.

Oriental Orthodoxy in the Republic of Ireland is part of the Oriental Orthodox Christian tradition. Before the beginning of the 20th century, the presence of Oriental Orthodox Christianity in Ireland was minor, gradually increasing only in the second half of the century with immigration, mainly from the region of Middle East and India. Today, it is a growing community, well integrated into Irish society.

Ayub Mor Silvanos is a Syriac Orthodox Metropolitan of America, Canada, and Europe region of the Knanaya Archdiocese. He was born on April 18, 1972. He received his first four orders of ordination on November 11, 1995, the fifth order on May 27, 1997 and became a full deacon on June 7, 1999. He was ordained as priest on August 6, 1999 by H. E. Mor Clemis Abraham, the Chief Metropolitan of the East.

Mor Clemis Kuriakose, is the Metropolitan of Thrissur Diocese of Malankara Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church. On August 24, 2008, Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka Iwas I Patriarch consecrated Metropolitan. Kuriakose Mor Clemis was appointed as the Metropolitan of Idukki Diocese. Since May, 2020 he is the Metropolitan of Thrissur Diocese. Mor Clemis Kuriakose Metropolitan is also the former President of St. Paul's Mission of India. On December 26, 2019, Ignatius Aphrem II Patriarch appointed Bishop Clemis Kuriakose as Metropolitan of Thrissur Diocese based on the synod of Malankara Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church.
