Hafiz Mohamad Ibrahim, also spelled as Hafiz Muhammad Ibrahim (1889-1968), was a leader of Indian National Congress. He was governor of Punjab, India in 1965. Ibrahim was a member of Rajya Sabha from 1958 to 1962 and served as union minister of power and irrigation. He was leader of the Rajya Sabbha from 1961 to 1963. [1] He served as Communication and Irrigation minister for United Provinces (1937–50). [2] [3]
Born at Mohalla Qazi Sarai 1st in Nagina in 1888, Hafiz Ibrahim was educated at Rajkiya Diksha Vidyalaya and joined Aligarh Muslim University for higher studies. [4]
His son Atiqur Rahman represented Nagina (Assembly constituency) 4th and 5th Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh, serving from March 1967 to March 1974.
His another son Azizur Rahman was a four-time MLA, Rehman was a minister in the state four times. He represented Bijnor (Assembly constituency) 06th Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh 08th Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh and 09th Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh In office Mar 1974 Nov 1989.[ citation needed ]
Ibrahim also was a student leader and was elected as union secretary at AMU. In 1919, he joined the independence movement. After joining Congress he was a delegate at the Nagpur convention. Later, during the 1942 movement, he was arrested and sent to Fatehgarh Jail.
After independence. Ibrahim was a member of the Rajya Sabha and became a cabinet minister in Nehru’s ministry in 1958. He held important portfolios as irrigation, waqf, PWD, food and civil supplies. During this period he was instrumental in shaping the waqf act.
Later he played important role in the Sindhu river dispute between India and Pakistan. He was also behind according university status to Roorkee Engineering College. He also organised a convention of Muslim MPs and MLAs in Lucknow. He became Governor of Punjab in 1966.
Ibrahim died during medical treatment on 24 January 1968.

Bhagat Singh Koshyari is an Indian politician who served as the 22nd governor of Maharashtra from 2019 to 2023. Ram Chandra Vikal Gurjar was a freedom fighter. He was an agriculture minister and was elected twice as a Member of Parliament as well as a five-time Member of the Legislative Assembly. He had charge of Jammu and Kashmir during the governments of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. He was also a well known yoga teacher. Vikal was influenced by the ideology of the Arya Samaj from childhood and participated in the freedom movement from his student days. An agriculturist, Vikal championed the cause of the farmers, labourers and backward classes, and was instrumental in implementing various social welfare measures such as getting irrigation rates reduced and land revenue written off.

Keshav Prasad Maurya is an Indian politician, currently serving as the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Maurya was associated with a right-wing Hindu organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, before entering active politics through BJP. He was also involved in cow protectionism in his early life. Before 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, he was made state president of the BJP, and after the victory of BJP, he was appointed as Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in the first Yogi Adityanath Government. Maurya again contested the legislative assembly elections in 2022 from Sirathu Assembly constituency, losing to Pallavi Patel of Samajwadi Party. However, he was given a second term as Deputy CM in the second Yogi Adityanath government.

He was also elected as a Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1993. Singh represents Chakrata assembly.
Arif Aqueel is an Indian politician and a member of the Indian National Congress party. He is the first Muslim MLA from Bhopal Uttar in the state of Madhya Pradesh. He served as a Cabinet Minister, Ministry of Minority Affairs and Backward Classes, Ministry of Bhopal Gas Relief and Distribution, Ministry of Medium and Small Enterprises, Government of Madhya Pradesh. He is the only Muslim minister in Madhya Pradesh to hold this post after a gap of 15 years.
