Ian Casady is an American professional ballet dancer who currently performs as a principal dancer with the Houston Ballet. [1]

Born in Marin County, California, Casady trained there with Jody White and David Roxander at Dance Theater Seven beginning when he was 9 or 10, then studied at Houston Ballet's Ben Stevenson Academy. [1] Casady joined Houston Ballet in 1998 after auditioning for the summer program, and then joining the company in the spring, he was then promoted to soloist in 2002, and to principal dancer in March 2007. [1]

His repertoire includes the Prince and Drosselmeyer in The Nutcracker , Marc Antony in Cleopatra , Giselle , Swan Lake , The Snow Maiden , and Peter Pan . He has appeared in Stanton Welch's Indigo and Bruiser, Dominic Walsh's The Illusion of Separation and Dolcemente, Ben Stevenson's Five Poems and Dusk; Nacho Duato's Without Words, Trey McIntyre's Second Before the Ground, and Natalie Weir's Steppenwolf. [1] His favorite role however, was as the Ghost in Christopher Bruce's, Ghost Dances.[ citation needed ]

Casady was a finalist at the 2002 USA International Ballet Competition in Jackson, Mississippi, and was a founding member of the Dominic Walsh Dance Theater. [2] His appearances as a guest artist include the Victoria Ballet Theatre, [3] the Charleston Ballet, [4] and the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet. [5]

Casady is married to Tyann Clement, a former soloist with the Houston Ballet. [6] [7]

Carlos Yunior Acosta Quesada CBE is a Cuban ballet dancer, and the director of Birmingham Royal Ballet. He has danced with many companies including the English National Ballet, National Ballet of Cuba, Houston Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. He was a permanent member of The Royal Ballet from 1998 to 2015. In 2003, he was promoted to principal guest artist, a rank which reduced his commitment, enabling him to concentrate on a growing schedule of international guest appearances and tours. He celebrated his farewell after 17 years at The Royal Ballet, dancing his last performance in November 2015 in Carmen, which he both choreographed and starred in.

Mireille Hassenboehler is an American former professional ballet dancer who performed as a principal dancer with the Houston Ballet until 2013.

César Morales Anderson is a Chilean ballet dancer who, as of February 2014, is a principal dancer with the Birmingham Royal Ballet. Born in Rancagua, Chile, César Morales began dancing at the age of eleven at the Ballet School of the Municipal Theatre of Santiago, where he trained for three years before being offered a scholarship by Ben Stevenson to train at the academy of Houston Ballet. He returned to Santiago at the age of fifteen to complete his training and Ivan Nagy offered him a contract to join the Ballet de Santiago. After a year in the Corps de Ballet, he was promoted to soloist and a year later to principal dancer immediately after his first performance of Swan Lake. Morales danced with the Ballet de Santiago until 2003, when he moved to Paris to work as a freelance guest artist, dancing in Paris, Slovenia and the Czech Republic. He went on to join the English National Ballet in 2004, was Principal Guest Artist with Vienna Staatsoper in 2006 and then joined the Birmingham Royal Ballet in 2008.
