It changed its name to SportAccord from March 2009 to April 2017 when it reverted to its former name. GAISF was an international sport organisation with 95 full members and 20 associate members.
The Youth Olympic Games (YOG) is an international multi-sport event for athletes between 15 and 18 years old, organized by the International Olympic Committee. The games are held every four years in staggered summer and winter events consistent with the current Olympic Games format, though in reverse order with the Olympic Winter Games held in leap years instead of the Summer Olympic Games. The first summer version was held in Singapore from 14 to 26 August 2010 while the first winter version was held in Innsbruck, Austria from 13 to 22 January 2012.

Muaythai has been included in many official sport programs such as the World Games, World Combat Games, Arafura Games, TAFISA Games, SEA Games, Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, Asian Beach Games, Demonstration Sport in the Asian Games.
The International Cheer Union (ICU) is the worldwide sports governing body of cheerleading. It was founded in 2004, and is recognized by SportAccord / Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), and is a member of the Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations (ARISF). Its membership includes 116 national cheer federations on all continents - reaching over 5 million athletes globally.

Athletics is one of the core sports on the programme for the Gymnasiade, an international multi-sport event organised by the International School Sport Federation (ISF). It has featured at all editions of the competition since 1976. An athletics competition was held the same year as the inaugural 1974 Gymnasiade, but was held separately at a different location. The event, contested by youth athletes under eighteen years old, was used as a reference point by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) when organising its first IAAF World Youth Championships in Athletics in 1999.

The 2021 Summer World University Games, the XXXI Summer World University Games, commonly known as Chengdu 2021, was a multi-sport event sanctioned by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), held from 28 July to 8 August 2023 primarily in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. It was the fourth edition of the Games hosted by China .This is also the first edition to be referred to as the "Summer World University Games" rather than "Summer Universiade". The games marked the 15th anniversary of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China.
