Frederik Jacobus Mulder (born 15 January 1964),known as Jaco Mulder,is a South African politician serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since 2019. A member of the Freedom Front Plus (FF+),he is the provincial leader of the party in Gauteng. Mulder previously served as a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature from 2004 to 2014. [1] [2]
The Freedom Front Plus is a right-wing political party in South Africa that was formed in 1994. It is led by Pieter Groenewald.
The Conservative Party of South Africa was a far-right South African political party that sought to preserve many aspects of apartheid in the system's final decade,and formed the official opposition in the white-only House of Assembly in the last seven years of minority rule. It declined quickly after apartheid ended,before being merged with the Freedom Front in 2004.
Pieter Willem Adriaan Mulder is a South African politician and the former leader of the Freedom Front Plus. He served as the Deputy Minister of Agriculture,Forestry and Fisheries in the Cabinet of President Jacob Zuma from 2009–14.
The Federal Alliance was a small South African political party that contested the South African general election in 1999. The party was led by business magnate Louis Luyt,and founded in 1998. They later joined the Democratic Party and the New National Party to form the Democratic Alliance but eventually broke away. The party did not contest the general election in 2004,instead fielding two candidates to the Gauteng Provincial Legislature on the DA's electoral lists. The FA gained these two seats in 2005 when the MPLs defected during the floor crossing window. This soured its relationship with the DA and ended all co-operation between the two parties.
Jacobus Frederik "Jacques" Smalle is a South African politician who has served as a Democratic Alliance Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since 2023 and previously from 2010 to 2014. Smalle served as a member of the Limpopo Provincial Legislature twice from 2009 until 2010 and again from 2014 until 2023. Smalle is currently the Democratic Alliance's Limpopo provincial chairperson. He had previously served as the party's Limpopo provincial leader and as deputy federal chairperson of the party. He was the DA's Limpopo Premier candidate for the 2019 election.
Petrus Johannes "Pieter" Groenewald is a South African politician. He has been serving as the Leader of the Freedom Front Plus since his election in November 2016. He started his political career by being elected Mayor of Stilfontein in 1988. He relinquished the position in 1989 due to his election to the House of Assembly. Groenewald co-founded the Freedom Front in 1994,and served as a Member of the National Assembly until his election to the North West Provincial Legislature in 1999. He returned to the National Assembly in 2001.

He was previously Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Education in the Gauteng provincial government between May 2014 and October 2022,with the exception of a two-day stint as MEC for Finance in May 2019. She has been serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since May 2019. She was previously a Member of the Free State Provincial Legislature. Breedt was married to fellow FF Plus MP Wouter Wessels.
Wouter Wynand Wessels is a South African politician and a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa for the Freedom Front Plus. He took office as an MP on 1 December 2017 and succeeded the former party leader Pieter Mulder,who resigned from Parliament a day earlier. Wessels was married to fellow FF Plus MP Tammy Breedt.
Ignatius Michael "Michal" Groenewald is a South African politician serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa. A member of the Freedom Front Plus (FF+),he is the party's provincial leader in the North West. Groenewald serves alongside his father and party leader,Pieter Groenewald,in Parliament. He was previously a municipal councillor in the Matlosana Local Municipality.
Philippus Adriaan van Staden,known as Philip van Staden,is a South African politician from Gauteng. He has been serving as a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa for the Freedom Front Plus (FF+) since 2019. He previously represented the FF+ in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature from 2014 to 2019. Van Staden was a municipal councillor of the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality from 2011 to 2014.
Amanda de Lange is a South African politician who has been serving as a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature for the Freedom Front Plus since May 2019. Prior to her election to the legislature,she served as a councillor of the Mogale City Local Municipality.
Frederik Petrus Nel is a South African politician who has served as a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature since May 2009,representing the Democratic Alliance. He is the DA's Gauteng Shadow MEC for Roads and Transport. Nel was elected as the DA provincial chairperson in 2020 and re-elected in 2023.
Gauteng is one of the nine multi-member constituencies of the National Assembly of South Africa,the lower house of the Parliament of South Africa,the national legislature of South Africa. The constituency was established as Pretoria–Witwatersrand–Vereeniging in 1994 when the National Assembly was established by the Interim Constitution following the end of Apartheid. It was renamed Gauteng in 1999. It is conterminous with the province of Gauteng. The constituency currently elects 48 of the 400 members of the National Assembly using the closed party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2019 general election it had 6,381,220 registered electors.

An attorney by training,he was formerly a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature from 1997 to 2012 and he served on the Gauteng Executive Council from 2009 to 2012. He was the deputy president of the ANC Youth League from 1994 to 1996.

Joseph Chiolé is a retired South African politician who represented the Freedom Front (FF) in the National Assembly during the first democratic Parliament from 1994 to 1999. Afterwards he served a single term in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature;he represented the FF until March 2003,when he crossed the floor to the Herstigte Nasionale Party (HNP).
