Ahmadi Governorate is one of the six governorates of Kuwait. It is located is famous in Kuwait for its greenery and British architecture. It is located in the southern part of Kuwait and comprises the town of Ahmadi as well as several southern suburbs of Kuwait City. Ahmadi forms an important part of Kuwaiti economy as several of Kuwait's oil refineries are located here. Main residential areas include Abu Halifa, Riqqah and Mangaf. Ahmadi is the home of several sporting clubs and complexes in Kuwait. The headquarters of Kuwait National Petroleum Company is located in Ahmadi.

The 2015 Men's World Team Squash Championships is the men's edition of the 2015 World Team Squash Championships, which serves as the world team championship for squash players. Courtesy of the World Squash Federation and Egyptian Squash Association, the event was scheduled to take place in Cairo, Egypt from December 12 to December 18, 2015; with short notice, it was postponed in the wake of several team withdrawals arising from security concerns and a bomb attack in the Egyptian capital that resulted in 16 fatalities.
