The AMF organised the championship until 1989.

At the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, however, they have never got past the group stage Until 2024. The UAE team has participated in every edition of the Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup, which was founded after the 2009 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup was hosted in the United Arab Emirates and which is played only in the UAE,They will host it once again as for the second time in 2023.

The Qatar national futsal team represents Qatar in international futsal competitions. It has only qualified for three AFC Futsal Championships.

The Cameroon national futsal team, also known as the Indomitable Lions, is controlled by the Cameroonian Football Federation, the governing body for futsal in Cameroon and represents the country in international futsal competitions.

The 2020 AFC Futsal Championship would have been the 16th edition of the AFC Futsal Championship, the biennial international futsal championship organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's national teams of Asia. A total of 16 teams would have taken part in the tournament.

The Kuwait women's national futsal team represents Kuwait in international women's futsal competitions and is controlled by the Kuwait Football Association.
