The auditions for season 3 started in March 2008, as in auditions for the previous seasons. There was a form to fill in the Latin American Idol official site to try for auditions for 2008.

Season 3 premiered on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 9 pm in Sony Entertainment Television, with the auditions from Mexico. As American Idol and Canadian Idol, it also start using the new intro sequence. Episodes from Venezuela's and Argentina's auditions were broadcast on June 25 and June 26 respectively. Episodes from Colombia's and Panamá's auditions were broadcast on July 2 and July 3 respectively. Theatre Stage episodes were aired on July 9 and July 10, with the Top 30 being announced at the end of July 10 episode. Semifinals Episodes started on July 16. Finals Episodes started on August 13.

Latin American Idol was the Hispanic American edition of the popular British franchise of Idols, well known for its American version American Idol. The show aimed to discover the pop idol of the Hispanic American region. The show was filmed in Buenos Aires and was transmitted to over 23 nations in the region via the Sony Entertainment Television network.

The first season of Latin American Idol premiered on Sony Entertainment Television on July 12, 2006 and continued until October 27, 2006, when it was won by Venezuelan born Mayré Martínez. Auditions were held in Caracas, Bogotá, Mexico City, and Buenos Aires in the spring of 2006. The concerts started on August 30 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the host country.

The second season of Latin American Idol premiered on June 13, 2007, and continued until September 27, 2007, when it was won by Guatemalan born Carlos Peña. Auditions were held in Caracas, Bogotá, Mexico City, and Buenos Aires in the spring of 2007. The concerts began on July in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the host country. For this season the judge Elizabeth Meza quit, and the Mexican singer Mimi was hired as the new Latin American Idol judge. At age 19, Peña is the first male and youngest person to win the competition, and second winner to never have been in the bottom two or three.

<i>Cómplices</i> 2008 studio album by Luis Miguel

Cómplices (transl.Accomplices) is the 18th studio album by Mexican singer Luis Miguel, released on 2 May 2008 by Warner Music Latina. The record is a collaboration with Spanish musician Manuel Alejandro, who wrote and arranged the songs, and co-produced the album with Luis Miguel. Musically, it is a pop album of mostly ballads and a few uptempo tracks with lyrics emphasizing romance. Two singles were released to promote the album: "Si Tú Te Atreves" and "Te Desean". To further promote the record, Luis Miguel embarked on the year-long Cómplices Tour from September 2008 to September 2009. He performed in North America and a few countries in South America.

Rubén Cedeño, is a Venezuelan musician, composer, painter, writer and speaker on metaphysical subjects. He was a disciple of Conny Méndez, who in 1946 founded the Metaphysical Teachings in Venezuela. He was one of her students and they had a very close relationship based on the teachings and their friendship as well. Rubén Cedeño has been writing and speaking publicly on Metaphysics for many years and as a result of his efforts, he founded or inspired the foundation of metaphysical groups in Argentina, Venezuela, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Ecuador, Bolivia, El Salvador, Peru, Mexico, Panama, United States, Spain, Italy, France, Belgium and Switzerland. He wrote more than 300 books, some of which have been translated to English, Italian, French and Portuguese and hold a place in many national libraries, such as Library of Alexandria, Egypt, Library of the Congress, National Library of Spain, Jewish National and University Library, National Library of Italy. Rubén Cedeño holds a place in the Encyclopedic Music of Venezuela and he is among the most famous musicians of Venezuela. Rogelio Polesello was an Argentine painter, muralist and sculptor. He was best known for making Op art known in Latin America. He won two Konex Awards; one in 1982 and another in 2012. He was born in Buenos Aires.

Miguel Ángel Rojas is a Colombian conceptual artist born in Bogotá in 1946. His work includes drawing, painting, photography, installations and video and is often related to the sexuality, the marginal culture, the violence and problems involved with drug consumption and production.

The 2020 Copa Libertadores group stage was played from 3 March to 22 October 2020. A total of 32 teams competed in the group stage to decide the 16 places in the final stages of the 2020 Copa Libertadores.
