The legislative districts of Zamboanga del Sur are the representations of the province of Zamboanga del Sur in the various national legislatures of the Philippines. The province is currently represented in the lower house of the Congress of the Philippines through its first and second congressional districts.
Prior to gaining separate representation, areas now under the jurisdiction of Zamboanga del Sur were represented under the Department of Mindanao and Sulu (1917–1935) and the historical Zamboanga Province (1935–1953).
The enactment of Republic Act No. 711 on June 6, 1952 divided the old Zamboanga Province into Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga del Sur and provided them each with a congressional representative. [1] Per Section 7 of Republic Act No. 711, the chartered cities of Zamboanga and Basilan formed part of Zamboanga del Sur's representation. [1] The province, along with the two cities, first elected its representative starting in the 1953 elections. Even after receiving its own city charter on June 21, 1969, Pagadian remained part of the representation of the Province of Zamboanga del Sur by virtue of Section 108 of Republic Act No. 5478. [2]
Zamboanga del Sur was represented in the Interim Batasang Pambansa as part of Region IX from 1978 to 1984. The province returned three representatives, elected at-large, to the Regular Batasang Pambansa in 1984. Basilan (established as a province in 1973) and Zamboanga City (classified as a highly urbanized city in 1983) separately elected their representatives starting that year.
Zamboanga del Sur was reapportioned into three congressional districts under the new Constitution [3] which was proclaimed on February 11, 1987, and elected members to the restored House of Representatives starting that same year.
The passage of Republic Act No. 8973 and its subsequent ratification by plebiscite on February 22, 2001 separated Zamboanga del Sur's entire third district to create the new province of Zamboanga Sibugay. [4] Per Section 7 of Republic Act No. 8973, Zamboanga del Sur's representation was reduced to two districts. [4] The former third district first elected a representative under the designation Lone congressional district of Zamboanga Sibugay beginning in the 2001 election.
The now-defunct 3rd district automatically became the representation of Zamboanga Sibugay upon its establishment in February 2001, but it was in May 2001 that this new province first elected a representative under its own name.

Zamboanga was a province of the Philippines located in the western region of the southern island of Mindanao, Philippines.
The House of Representatives of the Philippines is the lower house of the Congress of the Philippines. Informally known as the Kamara, the lower house is usually called Congress, although the term collectively refers to both houses.

The Zamboanga Sibugay creation plebiscite was a plebiscite on the creation of the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay from Zamboanga del Sur province in the Philippines. The plebiscite was held on February 22, 2001, and the results were announced on February 26, 2001. The plebiscite was supervised and officiated by the COMELEC pursuant to Resolution No. 3577.
Zamboanga del Sur's at-large congressional district is an obsolete congressional district that encompassed the area of Zamboanga del Sur in the Philippines. It was represented in the House of Representatives from 1953 to 1972 and in the Regular Batasang Pambansa from 1984 to 1986. The province of Zamboanga del Sur was created as a result of the partition of Zamboanga in 1952 and elected its first representative provincewide at-large during the 1953 Philippine House of Representatives elections. Roseller T. Lim who served as representative of Zamboanga's at-large congressional district during the partition was this district's first representative. The district remained a single-member district until the dissolution of the lower house in 1972. It was later absorbed by the multi-member Region IX's at-large district for the national parliament in 1978. In 1984, provincial and city representations were restored and Zamboanga del Sur elected three members for the regular parliament with a separate representation created for Zamboanga City. The district was abolished following the 1987 reapportionment to establish three districts under a new constitution.
Basilan's at-large congressional district refers to the lone congressional district of the Philippines in the province of Basilan. The province has been represented in the country's national legislatures since 1984. It first elected a representative provincewide at-large during the 1984 Philippine parliamentary election following the restoration of provincial and city district representation in the Batasang Pambansa where Basilan had previously been included in the regionwide representation of Western Mindanao for the interim parliament. The province, created by the 1973 separation from Zamboanga del Sur of the entire island with its two municipal districts and the municipality of Isabela outside its poblacion which was earlier organized as the City of Basilan separated from Zamboanga City, was formerly represented as part of Zamboanga del Sur's, Zamboanga's and Department of Mindanao and Sulu's at-large representations in earlier legislatures. Since the 1987 restoration of Congress following the ratification of a new constitution, Basilan has been entitled to one member in the House of Representatives. It is currently represented in the 18th Congress by Mujiv Hataman of the Liberal Party (LP).
