I Want to Know Your Parents is a 2022 South Korean mystery drama film directed by Kim Ji-hoon and written by Gim Gyung-mi. Based on a Japanese theatrical play Oya no Kao ga Mitai by Seigo Hatasawa, the film stars Sol Kyung-gu, Chun Woo-hee, Moon So-ri, Oh Dal-su and Ko Chang-seok. The film about school violence revolves around an eighth grade student, who kills himself but not before writing the names of the students who victimized him. And when their parents are called to the school, a battle goes on regarding the will. It was released theatrically on April 27, 2022.
The Point Men is a 2023 South Korean action thriller film directed by Yim Soon-rye and starring Hwang Jung-min and Hyun Bin. The film is based on the 2007 South Korean hostage crisis in Afghanistan and the subsequent rescue mission. It was released on January 18, 2023, in South Korea and screened in Dolby Atmos.
The Box is a 2021 South Korean musical road film directed by Yang Jung-woong for Yeonghwasa Take Co., Ltd. The film starring Park Chanyeol and Jo Dal-hwan, is about an aspiring singer and a washed-up music producer and their musical journey. The film was theatrically released on March 24, 2021, by Cine Pilwoon Co., Ltd.
The Book of Fish is a 2021 South Korean black-and-white historical drama film directed by Lee Joon-ik. The film starring Sol Kyung-gu and Byun Yo-han, is about an exiled Joseon era scholar and a fisherman and their exchange of knowledge in writing a book. The film was theatrically released on March 31, 2021, by Megabox.
A Year-End Medley is a 2021 South Korean romance film directed by Kwak Jae-yong and features an ensemble cast led by Han Ji-min, Lee Dong-wook, Kang Ha-neul and Im Yoon-ah. The film depicts the story of clients who visit the hotel 'Emross' with their own stories as they make their own relations in their own style. It was released simultaneously in theatres and via streaming media TVING on 29 December 2021.
Kingmaker is a 2022 South Korean political drama film, written and directed by Byun Sung-hyun for Seed Film and starring Sol Kyung-gu, Lee Sun-kyun and Yoo Jae-myung. It was scheduled to be theatrically released on December 29, 2021, but due to rapid increase in COVID-19 pandemic it was released on January 26, 2022, to coincide with Korean New Year holidays. The film was also officially invited in competition section at the 24th Udine Far East Film Festival held from April 22 to 30, 2022.
Special Delivery is a 2022 South Korean action crime film written and directed by Park Dae-min for M Pictures. Starring Park So-dam, Song Sae-byeok and Kim Eui-sung. It was theatrically released on January 12, 2022.
The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure is a 2022 South Korean period adventure film directed by Kim Jeong-hoon and starring Kang Ha-neul, Han Hyo-joo, Lee Kwang-soo, Chae Soo-bin, Oh Se-hun, Kim Sung-oh, Park Ji-hwan, and Kwon Sang-woo. A spiritual sequel of 2014 film The Pirates, the film is about adventures of pirates who gather in the sea and search for the royal treasures that have disappeared without a trace. It was released in IMAX format on January 26, 2022 coinciding with Korean New Year holiday. It became the first Korean film to register 1 million viewers in 2022 on 11th day of its release.
The Policeman's Lineage is a 2022 South Korean action thriller film, directed by Lee Kyoo-man and starring Cho Jin-woong and Choi Woo-shik. The film, based on Japanese novel Blood of the Policeman by Joh Sasaki, is about two cops with different methods forming a team to investigate a case that turns the police force upside down.
Serve the People is a 2022 South Korean romantic drama film, written and directed by Jang Cheol-soo and starring Yeon Woo-jin, Ji An (지안), Jo Sung-ha and Kim Ji-chul. Based on the eponymous novel by Chinese writer Yan Lianke, it depicts a romance between Mu Gwang, a model soldier, and Su-ryun, the young wife of the division commander and the inner conflicts of Mu Gwang. The film set in a fictional socialist country much similar to North Korea in the 1970s, was released theatrically on February 23, 2022 in South Korea.
Urban Myths is a 2022 South Korean anthology horror film, consisting of ten stories directed by debutant director Hong Won-ki, featuring Kim Do-yoon, Lee Yul-eum, Lee Young-jin and Lee Su-min. The omnibus film presents stories where horror is felt in familiar everyday life places like noise between floors, old furniture, mannequins, tunnel and social media. It was released theatrically on April 27, 2022.
Alienoid: Return to the Future is a 2024 South Korean science fiction action film directed by Choi Dong-hoon, starring Ryu Jun-yeol, Kim Tae-ri, and Kim Woo-bin. It is the second part of 2022 film Alienoid and tells the story of humans and monks trying to save everyone by returning to the present while hidden secrets are revealed in the fierce battle for the new sword. It was released on January 10, 2024, in IMAX, 4DX, and ScreenX formats.
The Roundup: Punishment is a 2024 South Korean action crime film directed by Heo Myung-haeng and starring Ma Dong-seok, Kim Mu-yeol, Park Ji-hwan and Lee Dong-hwi. It is the fourth installment of The Roundup series and the sequel to The Roundup: No Way Out (2023).
Exhuma (Korean: 파묘) is a 2024 South Korean supernatural horror film written and directed by Jang Jae-hyun, and starring Choi Min-sik, Kim Go-eun, Yoo Hae-jin and Lee Do-hyun. The film includes mystery and occult elements, and follows the process of excavating an ominous grave, which unleashes dreadful consequences buried underneath.
Picnic is a 2024 South Korean drama film directed by Kim Yong-gyun, starring Na Moon-hee, Kim Young-ok, Park Geun-hyung, and Ryu Seung-soo. It was released on February 7, 2024.
