"Flowers" by Miley Cyrus is the year's longest running number-one song, topping the Global 200 and the Global Excl. US for 13 weeks.

The Billboard Global 200 is a chart that ranks the best-performing songs globally. Its data, published by Billboard magazine and compiled by Luminate, is based on digital sales and online streaming from over 200 territories worldwide. Another similar chart is the Billboard Global Excl. US chart, which follows the same formula except it covers all territories excluding the US. The two charts launched on September 19, 2020.

On the Global 200, eighteen singles reached number one in 2023. Thirteen artists reached the top of the chart for the first time—SZA, Miley Cyrus, Karol G, Shakira, Eslabon Armado, Peso Pluma, Grupo Frontera, Jungkook, Latto, Doja Cat, Jack Harlow, Yeat, and Tate McRae. Miley Cyrus spent the most weeks at the top spot with thirteen weeks at number one for her single "Flowers".

On the Global Excl. US, nineteen singles reached number one in 2023. A pop and dance-pop record, Endless Summer Vacation is a shift from the synth-pop, rock, and glam rock genres featured on Plastic Hearts. Cyrus related its overall concept to her affection for Los Angeles, where the album was mainly recorded, and its track sequencing to the course of a day. Brandi Carlile and Sia are featured as guest vocalists.

"Ella Baila Sola" is a song by the American regional Mexican group Eslabon Armado and Mexican singer Peso Pluma. It was released on March 17, 2023, through DEL Records and Prajin Parlay, as the lead single for the group's album Desvelado (2023). "Ella Baila Sola" is a sierreño song that lyrically talks about two guys seeing a woman dancing alone. The song was written and produced by Pedro Tovar, with co-production being handled by Maurillo Pineda Jr. and Ernesto Fernandez.

"La Bebé" is a song by Mexican singer Yng Lvcas, released as first single from his second mixtape LPM on 24 December, 2021, same day of the release of the mixtape. The song was written by Yng Lvcas and Héctor Adrián Salazar Aguayo and produced by Bounce Bosses. The single and mixtape were released through the independent label We Are Bosses Records, before he signed with Warner Music and his musical catalog became promoted by this company. The song was going to be part of his previous album Wup? Mixtape 1 (2021), an album of corridos but since it was a reggaeton song he decided not to add it.

The song is a romantic UK garage pop track about wanting to spend all of one's time with one's lover. An explicit version was also released, and later included on Jungkook's debut studio album Golden.

Pedro Ángel Tovar Jr. is an American singer and songwriter of Mexican origin of regional Mexican music, known for being the lead vocalist and co-founder of Eslabón Armado, along with his brother Brian Tovar. In 2021 and 2022, Eslabón Armado was the winner of the Billboard Music Awards in the category, Top Latin Dúo/Group and Regional Mexican Artist of the Year – Duo or Group.
