The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is the agency of the U.S. state of Indiana. There are many divisions within the DNR and each has a specific role. The DNR is not only responsible for maintaining resource areas but also manages Indiana's fish and wildlife, reclaims coal mine ground, manages forested areas, aids in the management of wildlife on private lands, enforces Indiana's conservation laws, and many other duties not named here. The Maryland Forest Service in 1996 marked the 90th anniversary of forestry in Maryland, United States and the birth of what is known as the Department of Natural Resources Forest Service. Although the service has been known by many names over nine decades, its mission has been consistent: "To conserve and enhance the quality, quantity, productivity and biological diversity of the forest and tree resources of Maryland."

Tar Hollow State Park is a public recreation area located five miles south of Laurelville, Ohio, in the United States. Surrounded by the foothills of the Appalachian Plateau, the state park is part of a larger protected complex with the adjoining Tar Hollow State Forest. The park offers hiking trails that extend into the state forest in addition to boating, fishing and swimming on 15-acre (6.1 ha) Pine Lake.
