Swedish literature refers to literature written in the Swedish language or by writers from Sweden.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Stieg Larsson</span> Swedish writer, journalist, and activist (1954-2004)

Karl Stig-Erland "Stieg" Larsson was a Swedish writer, journalist, and activist. He is best known for writing the Millennium trilogy of crime novels, which were published posthumously, starting in 2005, after he died of a sudden heart attack. The trilogy was adapted as three motion pictures in Sweden, and one in the U.S.. The publisher commissioned David Lagercrantz to expand the trilogy into a longer series, which has six novels as of September 2019. For much of his life, Larsson lived and worked in Stockholm. His journalistic work covered socialist politics and he acted as an independent researcher of right-wing extremism.

Norstedts Förlag is a book publishing company in Sweden. Norstedts is Sweden's oldest publishing house and one of the largest in the country. It was founded in 1823 by Per Adolf Norstedt, under the name P. A. Norstedt & Söner.

Litteris et Artibus is a Swedish royal medal established in 1853 by Charles XV of Sweden, who was then crown prince. It is awarded to people who have made important contributions to culture, especially music, dramatic art and literature.

Samfundet De Nio is a Swedish literary society founded on 14 February 1913 in Stockholm by a testamentary donation from writer Lotten von Kraemer. The society has nine members who are elected for life. Its purpose is to promote Swedish literature, peace and women's issues. It mainly presents a number of literary awards. It was started as an alternative to the Swedish Academy and is often compared to its more noted cousin.

Historiens 100 viktigaste svenskar is a book by Niklas Ekdal and Petter Karlsson, published in 2009. Before the book was released, the list was published by Dagens Nyheter between 14 April and 6 May. The book is a list of the 100 Swedes that according to the authors have had "the greatest influence on Swedish people's lives, and also people's lives around the world". There are 84 men and 16 women on the list. Around 40 of them lived in the previous century, and 16 were still alive as of the book's publication.

Lindqvist is a surname of Swedish origin. It means 'linden twig', as lind means 'linden tree', and kvist means 'twig'.

Career is a 1938 Swedish drama film directed by Schamyl Bauman and starring Signe Hasso, Sture Lagerwall and Tollie Zellman. The film's sets were designed by the art director Erwin Scharf. It follows the members of a touring theatre company in Sweden.

<i>Walpurgis Night</i> (film) 1935 film

Walpurgis Night is a 1935 Swedish drama film directed by Gustaf Edgren and starring Lars Hanson, Karin Kavli, Victor Sjöström and Ingrid Bergman. It was shot at the Råsunda Studios in Stockholm and on location around the city. The film's sets were designed by the art director Arne Åkermark.
