This is a list of notable colleges in Mumbai, India. Many of the colleges are autonomous universities, while others are affiliated to the University of Mumbai. Colleges are spread throughout the city as well as the suburbs. Popular courses include BA, BSc, and BCom. Many colleges also offer professional courses which concentrate on a specialized field. Almost all colleges offer courses at junior college level, which is equivalent to the last two years of high schools in other countries.

Vile Parle (IPA:[ʋilepaːɾle], also known as Parla), is a suburb and also the name of the railway station in the Western suburb of Mumbai. Vile Parle has a significantly strong base of Gujarati and Marathi population. It serves as the location of the first Parle factory which ceased operations in the year 2016. It also houses Terminal 2 (T2) of Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

Mira Road is a suburb north of Mumbai in Thane District and is also a part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. It falls within the Police Jurisdiction of Mira-Bhayander, Vasai-Virar Police Commissionerate. Mira Road is situated in the north-western portion of Salsette Island, Maharashtra state, India. Mira Road has a large Gujarati population followed by Marathis along with other ethnic groups.

Somaiya Vidyavihar University is a private university located in the Vidyavihar suburb of Mumbai. It is the second largest campus in Mumbai, superseded only by the Powai campus of the Indian Institute of Technology. Its campus is approximately 60 acres (24 ha).

Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal's Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies is a private deemed university located in Mumbai. The University also has campuses at Shirpur, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Indore and Navi Mumbai and two upcoming campuses in Dhule and Chandigarh. SIES Graduate School of Technology is an engineering college, an integral part of SIES, and was started in the year 2002. It is one of the Institutes in Navi Mumbai imparting Engineering Technical Education. The institute is approved by the AICTE New Delhi, DTE Mumbai and affiliated to the University of Mumbai. SIES GST is one of the premier engineering institutes in Mumbai area under the ambit of University of Mumbai.

The Western Railway Elevated Corridor, also known as the Oval Maidan-Virar elevated corridor, was a proposed rapid transit corridor that would have run along the same alignment as the Western Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway, and link Oval Maidan with Virar.

The Thane Municipal Corporation Transport Service, operating under the name "Thane Municipal Transport (T.M.T.)" is the transport wing of Thane Municipal Corporation, which operates many bus lines in the Thane metropolitan area. These buses are called Thane Municipal Transport or T.M.T bus. TMT bus serves the entire Thane City. It also has operation outside city limits into neighboring Mumbai, Bhiwandi, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan Dombivali, Mira-Bhayandar and Vasai Virar.

The Western Suburbs is the western precinct of the city of Mumbai, India. The Western Suburbs consist of Andheri, Bandra, Bhayander, Borivali, Dahisar, Goregaon, Jogeshwari, Juhu, Kandivali, Khar, Malad, Mira Road, Santacruz and Vile Parle. Geographically, the Western Suburbs lie at the western part of Salsette Island, is a continuous urban sprawl spanning the areas from Bandra to Bhayander, which is separated by the Vasai Creek from Vasai-Virar city and Mithi River from Mumbai city district.

Oriental Education Society was established in the year 1992 by Javed Khan as a Public Charitable Trust providing higher education in the Mumbai and Navi Mumbai region. It has 13 Institutes located on 4 campuses, which now have over 8000 students in all.
