This is a list of hospitals in Bahrain . Hospitals in Bahrain can be classified into public hospitals (funded by the Ministry of Health or the Bahrain Defence Force) and private hospitals.

All hospitals are subject to inspection and accreditation by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA), an independent regulatory body established in 2010. [1]

The Bahrain Specialist Hospital (BSH) is a comprehensive acute care medical centre situated in Juffair, in the Kingdom of Bahrain. BSH is supported by shareholders from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates. It is directed by the managing director Dr. Kasim Ardati, and was inaugurated in February 2003 under the patronage of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Dr. Najah Al Zayyani is credited with founding the hospital.

The facilities cover a range of functions including the management and treatment of adult and pediatric diabetes and metabolic disorders. The center was opened under the patronage of the Bahraini prime minister Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa.

The hospital provides secondary, tertiary, and emergency healthcare services as well as specialised outpatient clinics for the general public. Residency programs in the hospital are either Arab Board or Saudi Board certified.

The Bahrain health worker trials were a series of legal cases in which forty-eight doctors, nurses, and dentists faced charges for their actions during the Bahraini uprising of 2011. In September 2011, twenty of the health workers were convicted by a military court of felonies including "stockpiling weapons" and "plotting to overthrow the government". The remaining twenty-eight were charged with misdemeanors and tried separately. The following month, the felony sentences were overturned, and it was announced that the defendants would be retried by a civilian court. Retrials began in March 2012, but were postponed until June 14. Convictions against nine of the defendants were quashed and reduced against another nine. The Court of Cassation upheld the sentences against the remaining nine on 1 October.

Bahrain has a universal health care system, dating back to 1960. Government-provided health care is free to Bahraini citizens and subsidized for non-Bahrainis. Healthcare expenditure accounted for 4.5% of Bahrain's GDP, according to the World Health Organization. Bahraini physicians and nurses form a majority of the country's workforce in the health sector, unlike neighbouring Gulf states.

The Psychiatric Hospital of Bahrain is a 296-bed tertiary care public hospital located in Salmaniya, Manama, Bahrain. It is the country's only public psychiatric teaching hospital, dating back to 1932. The hospital boasts 241 beds, handles an average of 1,195 psychiatric inpatient admissions and 20,000 outpatients on a yearly basis.
