The following list of school districts in New Jersey distinguishes between regional, consolidated and countywide districts and those serving single municipalities. Non-operating school districts, which are those districts that never operated any school facilities and where all students have attended school in other districts as part of sending/receiving relationships, are not listed. Districts are grouped by county.

The U.S. Census Bureau lists "Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst" in Burlington County as having its own school district. [1] Students attend area school district public schools, as the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) does not operate any schools on that base. Students on McGuire and Dix may attend one of the following in their respective grade levels, with all siblings in a family taking the same choice: North Hanover Township School District (PK-6), Northern Burlington County Regional School District (7-12), and Pemberton Township School District (K-12). It has been the smallest public high school in the state. Students attend the school from Lambertville, Stockton and West Amwell Township. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1977.

The New Hanover Township School District is a consolidated public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from non-military portions of New Hanover Township and Wrightstown, two communities in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States.

The Stockton Borough School District was a community public school district that served students in pre-Kindergarten through sixth grade from Stockton, in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2014-15 school year, the school is part of the South Hunterdon Regional School District, which also serves students from Lambertville and West Amwell Township.

The Lambertville City School District is a defunct community public school district that served students in preschool through sixth grade from Lambertville, in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2014–15 school year, the school is part of the South Hunterdon Regional School District, which also serves students from Stockton and West Amwell Township.

South Hunterdon Regional School District is a regional public school district serving students in pre-kindergarten though twelfth grades from three communities in southern Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The district was established for the 2014–15 school year by consolidating the K-6 districts for Lambertville, Stockton and West Amwell Township together with South Hunterdon Regional High School to create a K-12 district.
