Mercer County Technical Schools (MCTS), also known as the Area Vocational Technical Schools of Mercer County, is a countywide vocational public school district based in Trenton and Pennington. Serving the high school-aged population of Mercer County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The district's programs are offered on a shared-time basis whereby a student is enrolled in their home school for academic and other educational activities and then attends a technical school on a half-day basis. The district also offers full-time academies for those in high school that caters to specific academic areas of study.

Board of education

The district's board of education sets policy and oversee the fiscal and educational operation of the district through its administration. The board is comprised of seven members, the county superintendent of schools, who serves on an ex officio basis, and six members who are appointed by the Mercer County Executive to three-year terms of office on a staggered basis with the approvaal of Mercer County Board of County Commissioners, with two member terms up for reappointment and expiring each year. The board appoints a superintendent to oversee the district's day-to-day operations and a business administrator to supervise the business functions of the district. [8] [9]
