The Los Angeles Lakers radio networks consist of two separate networks for the coverage of the National Basketball Association (NBA)'s Los Angeles Lakers basketball team. One is an English language network while the other is a Spanish language network. There are 17 total stations in four states (Arizona, California, Nevada, and New Mexico) between the two networks.
Current announcers for the English-language network include John Ireland as the play-by-play announcer since 2011. The color commentator since 2004 is former Lakers player (with the team for their 1987 & 1988 championships) Mychal Thompson. Thompson, who originally worked with Spero Dedes stayed on as an announcer when the broadcasts moved from KLAC to KSPN at the start of the 2009-2010 season. [1] [2]
Former on-air personnel for the network have included legendary play-by-play announcer Chick Hearn and former NBA player Stu Lantz as a color commentator. [3] Pat Riley served as a color commentator for the network from 1977 until late 1979 when he became an assistant coach for the team. [4]
The English-language Los Angeles Lakers Radio Network is a three-state, 11-station network with KSPN ("710 ESPN") serving as the flagship. [5] Starting with the 2009-2010 season, KSPN took over the flagship position under a five-year deal, thus ending the Lakers' three-decade relationship with KLAC. [6] KLAC served as the Lakers' flagship station from 1977 to 2009. [7]

KABC is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Los Angeles, California, and serving the Greater Los Angeles area. The station is owned by Cumulus Media and broadcasts a news/talk format. The studios are located in the Los Angeles suburb of Culver City. The transmitter is off West Martin Luther King Boulevard in the Crenshaw District, shared with KWKW and KFOX. KABC’s power is 6,600 watts daytime and 7,900 watts nighttime, using a directional antenna.
KFWB is a commercial radio station in Los Angeles, California. It airs a classic Regional Mexican music format. KFWB is owned by Lotus Communications. The station has a colorful history, being the radio voice of Warner Bros. Studios in the early days of broadcasting, and a long-time Group W/CBS radio station from 1966 to 2016. It has kept the same call sign throughout its nearly 100-year history.
KSPN is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Los Angeles, California, and serving the Greater Los Angeles Area. Owned by Good Karma Brands, the station airs a sports radio format as the market's ESPN Radio affiliate. KSPN's studios are located at the ESPN Los Angeles Studios at L.A. Live in Downtown Los Angeles, while the transmitter resides in Irwindale. In addition to a standard analog transmission, KSPN is also licensed to broadcast in the HD Radio (hybrid) format, although the station is not currently broadcasting in HD.
KLAC is a commercial sports radio station licensed to Los Angeles, California, serving Greater Los Angeles and much of surrounding Southern California. Owned by a joint venture between iHeartMedia, Inc. and the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball club, KLAC serves as the Los Angeles affiliate for Fox Sports Radio; the flagship station for the Los Angeles Dodgers Radio Network, the Los Angeles Clippers, UCLA Bruins football and basketball; and the home of radio personalities Fred Roggin, Rodney Peete, Petros Papadakis and Matt "Money" Smith.
Mychal George Thompson is a Bahamian sports commentator and former professional basketball player. The top overall pick in the 1978 NBA draft, Thompson played the center position for the University of Minnesota and center and power forward for the National Basketball Association's Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs, and Los Angeles Lakers. Thompson won two NBA championships with the Lakers during their Showtime era in the 1980s. He is the father of basketball players Klay Thompson and Mychel Thompson, and baseball player Trayce Thompson.
Jaime Jarrín is an Ecuadorian-born American sportscaster known as the Spanish-language voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers. He began broadcasting for the Dodgers in 1959 and was the 1998 recipient of the Ford C. Frick Award from the Baseball Hall of Fame. One of the most recognizable voices in Hispanic broadcasting, Jarrín, "the Spanish Voice of the Dodgers" is also heard on Spectrum SportsNet LA's SAP channel.
The NFL on Westwood One Sports is the branding for Cumulus Broadcasting subsidiary Westwood One's radio coverage of the National Football League. These games are distributed throughout the United States and Canada. The broadcasts were previously branded with the CBS Radio and Dial Global marques; CBS Radio was the original Westwood One's parent company and Dial Global purchased the company in 2011. Dial Global has since reverted its name to Westwood One after merging with Cumulus Media Networks.
KLAA is a commercial AM radio station licensed to the city of Orange, California, and broadcasting to the Greater Los Angeles Area. The station is owned by LAA 1, LLC, composed of the owners and executives of the Los Angeles Angels baseball team, and is held separately from the baseball club. KLAA's studios and offices are located on the grounds of Angel Stadium of Anaheim in Anaheim, California. The transmitter is in Chino, California, off McCarty Road.
D'Marco Marcellus Farr is an American former professional football player who was a defensive tackle for the Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams of the National Football League (NFL). He played for the Rams from 1994 to 2000 and recorded 36.5 career sacks. He was a member of the Rams team that won Super Bowl XXXIV. He became a sideline reporter for the Los Angeles Rams.
Adrian Garcia Marquez is an American sportscaster who works for Fox Deportes as a play-by-play announcer, narrator, and host. He also serves as one of the international voices of the NBA calling action on the NBA League Pass. Prior to joining Fox and the NBA, he was with the Los Angeles Lakers for 6 seasons serving as the team's Spanish TV play-by-play announcer on Time Warner Cable Deportes later becoming Spectrum Deportes.
Francisco X. Rivera is a bilingual sportscaster who specializes in soccer, football and baseball. He started his on-air career in 2005 as a host, play-by-play announcer and reporter, as one of the youngest on-air talents in American television. He made his debut on English-language network television as a sideline reporter for Fox Sports during the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The Long Beach State graduate can be seen and heard on FS1, Estrella TV and ESPN Deportes Radio, among other outlets in the United States and Latin America.
Andrew David Siciliano is an American sports television anchor, reporter and radio broadcaster. He is the play-by-play announcer for the National Football League's Los Angeles Rams on pre-season games. He was the sole host of NFL Sunday Ticket Red Zone, airing on DirecTV. During the week, he serves as a host for NFL Total Access on the NFL Network. He has also hosted coverage of the Olympic Games in 2014 and 2016 for NBC Sports's coverage, mainly for the online-only events network "Gold Zone", which features a format which is equivalent to that of Red Zone.

KWKW is a commercial Spanish language radio station licensed to serve Los Angeles, California, featuring a sports format known as "Tu Liga Radio 1330". Owned by Lotus Communications, the station services Greater Los Angeles and much of surrounding Southern California, and since September 2019 has been the Los Angeles affiliate for Univision's TUDN Radio. Having adopted the current sports format on October 1, 2005, KWKW is the Spanish language flagship station for multiple Los Angeles professional sports franchises including the Rams, Lakers, Clippers, Kings, Angels and the LA Galaxy. KWKW itself is Southern California's oldest Spanish language radio station, having begun operations in 1941 at 1430AM and licensed to Pasadena and transferring to 1300AM—also based in Pasadena—in 1950. KWKW's programming and call sign moved to 1330AM from 1300AM in 1989 following Lotus' acquisition of the former and sale of the latter.
