Star Chinese Channel was a Taiwanese general entertainment television channel operated by The Walt Disney Company (Taiwan) Ltd. Its programming features drama, variety, lifestyle, and talk shows in Mandarin. Launched on 21 October 1991 at 16:30 Hong Kong Time by its predecessor Star TV, the channel originally targeted audiences in Greater China broadcasting in both Mandarin and Cantonese, before it reduced broadcasting area to just Taiwan and began broadcasting only in Mandarin on 30 March 1996. Both Star Chinese Channel, along with its sister channel Star Entertainment Channel, closing down on January 1, 2024, as Disney further enrolled Disney+ streaming platform.
The Chinese Television System Inc. is a terrestrial television station in Taiwan and was founded in 1971. Recent milestones of the network are in sports events, including having the distinction to offer exclusive coverage of the 2017 Universiade, which was held in Taipei. This included airing the opening and closing ceremonies, plus major games, and it enabled its YouTube channel with several options to watch the rest of the games. Due to recent interest in soccer in Taiwan triggered by the success of its national team, it also bought the rights to broadcast on its free-to-air waves the 2018 FIFA World Cup for all matches from the round of 16 to the end of the tournament, thereby becoming the only channel which offered an event often reserved to cable TV channels.

Born in Taipei but raised in Los Angeles, California, Wang dropped out from Gabrielino High School when she was 16. The album reached No.1 in Taiwan and has been popular throughout Southeast Asia. In June 2008, it was released in Japan. The pre-ordering of the album began on 10 August 2012 in Taiwan and included a limited edition Rubik's Cube with each pre-order purchase. The album marked the comeback of Pan to the music scene, 19 months after the release of 808 in January 2011.
