Marie Nimier (born 1957) is a French writer.
She was born in Paris in 1957. Her father was the writer Roger Nimier (1925-1962) who was a key figure in the Hussards movement that opposed the French existentialists led by Sartre. She has published numerous books, and her works have been translated in the major European languages. She won the Prix Médicis in 2004 for La Reine du silence, in which she evoked her relationship with her father. She is also a playwright and songwriter. [1] [2]

The Roger Nimier Prize is a French literature award. It is supposed to go to "a young author whose spirit is in line with the literary works of Roger Nimier". Nimier (1925–1962) was a novelist and a leading member of the Hussards movement. The prize was established in 1963 at the initiative of André Parinaud and Denis Huisman and is handed out annually during the second half of May. It comes with a sum of 5000 euro.
