Mbeya Airport( IATA : MBI, ICAO : HTMB) is an airport located in Mbeya Region, Tanzania. The airport is small and serves the city of Mbeya. It is within the southern section of the city.

A new, larger airport at Songwe, 20 kilometres (12 mi) west of the city, was opened in December 2012 and also serves Mbeya and Songwe Region.

Mbeya Region Region of Tanzania

Mbeya Region is one of Tanzania's 31 administrative regions. It is located in the country's southwest. The regional capital is the city of Mbeya. According to the 2012 national census, the region had a population of 2,707,410, which was lower than the pre-census projection of 2,822,396.
