Medang Island

Medang Island (Indonesian: Pulau Medang) is an island group off the north coast of Sumbawa, west of Moyo Island, in the Flores Sea. It is actually composed of two islands, Medang Besar [1] and Medang Kecil [2] (big and small), adminstratively called Bajo Medang and Bugis Medang; together they cover an area of about 28 km2 and had a combined population of about 3,000 in 2022 [3] . There are coral reefs in this area, with sharks and giant sponges. [4]

It covers a land area of 3,141.47 km2, and had a population of 221,703 at the 2010 census, rising to 251,689 at the 2015 Intermediate census and to 256,317 at the 2020 census. It includes the substantial island of Moyo, lying off the north coast of Sumbawa. Buru Regency is a regency of Maluku province, Indonesia. When it was first created on 4 October 1999, the regency encompassed the entire island ; but on 24 June 2008 the southern 40% of the island was split off to form a separate Buru Selatan Regency. The residual Buru Regency comprises the northern 60% of the island of Buru and covers an area of 7,595.58 km2. The population at the 2010 census was 108,445 and at the 2020 census this had increased to 135,238; the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 137,990. The principal town lies at Namlea.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Lepar Island</span>

Lepar is an island in Indonesia, located off the southeastern coast of Bangka. Administratively part of South Bangka in Bangka Belitung province, it is the third-largest island in the province after its much larger namesakes Bangka and Belitung, with an area of 169 square km. Lepar sits in the Gaspar Strait which separates the two larger islands. It stretches about 22 km east–west and 17 km north–south, with the towns of Tanjunglabu, Tanjungsangkar and Penutuk being the main population centers. It is governed as its own district of Lepar Pongok, which used to include a nearby, medium-sized island of Pongok until 2012 when it separated as its own district of Pongok Islands.

Benggala Island, also named Bateeleblah Island is one of Indonesian outlying islands located in Indian Ocean, southeast of Bengal Bay and south of Andaman Sea, bordering India's Exclusive economic zone. This island is the westernmost point of Indonesia, administratively part of Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh. This island is an uninhabited rocky island With total area about 4 hectares. Coral reefs can be found around the island's water, which make it suitable for eco-tourism.
