Mickleover is a large suburban village of Derby, in Derbyshire, England. It is 2 miles (3.2 km) west of Derby city centre, 10 miles (16 km) northeast of Burton-upon-Trent, 19 miles (31 km) west of Nottingham city centre, 13 miles (21 km) southeast of Ashbourne and 12 miles (19 km) northeast of Uttoxeter.

Elaine Kildare Murray is a retired Scottish Labour politician. She was leader of Dumfries and Galloway Council for the 2017–2022 term. At the 1999, 2003 and 2007 elections, Murray increased her percentage share of the vote. She was Shadow Minister for the Environment in the Scottish Parliament. She lost her seat in 2016.
