Whitehouse is an unincorporated community in Johnson County, Kentucky, United States. In its early years, it was called Mt. Carbon and housed families from two different coal companies, Sandy River Cannel Coal Company and Whitehouse Cannel Coal Company. In 1887, the Ohio and Big Sandy Railroad, bought by C&O Railroad in 1892, reached the community and named the station "Whitehouse" after a large white house that served as a landmark for riverboats. Statue of John James Ingalls

John James Ingalls is a 1905 marble sculpture of the politician of the same name by Charles Henry Niehaus, installed in the United States Capitol, in Washington D.C., as part of the National Statuary Hall Collection. It is one of two statues donated by the state of Kansas. The statue was accepted in the collection by Senator Arthur P. Gorman on January 21, 1905.
