Nontutuzelo Maqubela is a South African politician who has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature since 2019. She has served as Deputy Chairperson of Committees in the legislature since December 2022.

Political career

Maqubela was elected to her legislative seat in the 2019 general election, ranked 41st on the ANC's provincial party list. [1]

At a party provincial elective conference in Buffalo City in May 2022, she was elected to a four-year term as a member of the Provincial Executive Committee of the ANC's provincial branch in the Eastern Cape. By number of votes received, she was ranked 25th of the 30 ordinary members elected to the committee. [2]

In December 2022, she was named as the Deputy Chairperson of Committees in the provincial legislature, deputising Tony Duba, who had formerly held the position. [3]

Sakhumzi Stoffels Somyo is a South African politician. A member of the African National Congress, he was elected to the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature in 2014. He was then appointed as the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) responsible for the Finance, Economic Development, Environment and Tourism portfolio. In 2018, he was fired as an MEC. Somyo was elected to Parliament in 2019. Soon after, he was elected Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Auditor General.

Phumeza Theodora Mpushe is a South African politician who has been an African National Congress Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since August 2020. She had previously been a member of the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature.

Kedibone Pauline Diale is a South African politician. She was elected to the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in 2019 as a member of the African National Congress. In October 2022, she was appointed the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) responsible for Transport and Logistics in Gauteng.

Thandi Moraka is a South African politician who is currently serving as a Member of the Limpopo Provincial Legislature. In 2020 she was appointed chief of staff in the office of Pemmy Majodina, the Chief Whip of the Majority Party in the National Assembly. Loyiso Magqashela is a South African politician who has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature since 2019. He was elected to his seat in the 2019 general election, ranked 14th on the ANC's provincial party list. He was also named as the Chief Whip of the Majority Party in the legislature.
