Catty Quiroz Moore is the current and 10th superintendent of the Wake County Public School System, the largest school district in North Carolina, and the 15th largest in the United States. Since entering the role of deputy superintendent in 2011 and superintendent in May 2018, Moore has expanded the programming of magnet schools, passed policy promoting equity, and negotiated several bonds and funding increases for the school system. Moore announced that she would be retiring from her position in on July 1, 2023.
