JoJo is the debut studio album by American singer JoJo, released on June 22, 2004, by Da Family Entertainment, Blackground Records, and Universal Records. Incorporating pop and R&B, JoJo was influenced by Ella Fitzgerald, Bobby Brown, and Aretha Franklin. While recording the album over an eight-month period, JoJo worked with producers including Brian Alexander Morgan, Soulshock and Karlin, Mike City, Bink!, Kwamé "K1 Mill" and The Underdogs, among others. JoJo co-wrote three out of the seventeen original tracks on the album. The album also includes a cover of R&B group SWV's 1993 song "Weak".

Columbia Records released "Listen" as the lead single from the Dreamgirls: Music from the Motion Picture soundtrack album on January 19, 2007. It additionally appeared as a hidden track on international editions, and on the deluxe edition of Beyoncé's second solo studio album, B'Day. The Spanish version of the song, "Oye", was released on the EP, Irreemplazable, and the Spanish deluxe edition of B'Day.

My Inspiration is a studio album by Filipino singer Jake Zyrus. It was released on April 3, 2009 and is credited under the name Charice, which Zyrus used prior to his gender transition. It is a concept cover album dedicated to his mother Racquel Pempengco. In addition to nine cover versions, the album features one original song, "Always You", written by the Metropop Song Festival and Awit Award-winning songwriter Jonathan Manalo. The album has been certified platinum. Like his previous release, the album was also made available for digital download through Amazon MP3 on June 23, 2009. Some package versions include a second CD, which features a karaoke version of every song.

The song was released on June 12, 2011, by Mercury Nashville Records, as a single to accompany the documentary television series Why Not? with Shania Twain (2011). The song marked Twain's first song release in over six years and actually even the only song release of her own within a timespan of twelve years.
