Robert Collins is an Australian actor and singer. His best known roles include Waruu West in Cleverman , Jack Winters in The Wrong Girl , and Charlie Irving in Total Control .

Early life and education

Robert Collins was born and raised in Darwin, Northern Territory [1] from a Tiwi Islands background. He worked with the National Indigenous Music Awards, [2] and was the national Indigenous representative for the Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) for three years. [1] [3]

He then looked for acting opportunities, and landed the roles of Theseus and Oberon in a local production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, before being cast in more national and local productions. He auditioned and won a place at the National Institute of Dramatic Art, graduating in 2013. [4] [1]

Professional acting career

He made his professional stage debut in 2013 as Mufasa in the Australian production of The Lion King . [4] [1]

Collins is best known for his major roles in the Australian television series Cleverman and The Wrong Girl , both of which premiered in 2016.[ citation needed ]

He played Lysander in A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Sydney Theatre Company in September and October 2016, directed by Kip Williams. [5]

In 2017, he played Phil Holden in the Australian television program Glitch .[ citation needed ]

In 2019 Collins joined the cast of ABC political drama Total Control in the role of Charlie Irving for the shows first season, he reprised the role for the series third and final season in 2024. [6]

A Midsummer Night's Dream is a comedy play written by William Shakespeare in about 1595 or 1596. The play is set in Athens, and consists of several subplots that revolve around the marriage of Theseus and Hippolyta. One subplot involves a conflict among four Athenian lovers. Another follows a group of six amateur actors rehearsing the play which they are to perform before the wedding. Robert Mills is an Australian actor, television host and singer-songwriter. He was one of the finalists from the first season of Australian Idol in 2003. He co-hosted the late-night quiz show The Mint with his childhood idol, J-Dawg, the two would go on to star in the hit show Young Talent Time, and was a regular singer on the game show The Singing Bee both on the Nine Network. Mills took part in the ninth season of Dancing with the Stars, and appeared on Celebrity Apprentice. In 2008, Mills won the lead male role of Fiyero in a production of Wicked, and continued the role when it moved around Australia. He has since starred in a number of popular large scale musical theatre productions. In 2012, Mills was announced as the host of Network Ten's revamped Young Talent Time. He played teacher Finn Kelly on Neighbours from 2017 until 2022.
