The Bangladesh Armed Forces are the military forces of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. They consist of the three uniformed military services: the Bangladesh Army, the Bangladesh Navy and the Bangladesh Air Force. The Armed Forces are under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Defence of the Government of Bangladesh, and are directly administered by the Armed Forces Division of the Prime Minister's Office. The President of Bangladesh serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. Bangladesh has the third-largest defence budget in South Asia and according to the Global Firepower index, The Bangladeshi ilitary is the 37th strongest in the Worldit is the third most powerful military force in South Asia. Border Guard Bangladesh and Bangladesh Coast Guard are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Home Affairs during peacetime, but during wartime they fall under the command of Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Navy respectively.
The Bangladesh Army is the land warfare branch and the largest component of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. The primary mission of the Army is to provide necessary forces and capabilities to deliver the Bangladeshi government's security and defence strategies and defending the nation's territorial integrity against external attack. Control of personnel and operations is administered by the Army Headquarters, Dhaka. The Bangladesh Army is also constitutionally obligated to assist the government and it's civilian agencies during times of domestic national emergency. This additional role is commonly referred to as "aid to civil administration".
Dhaka Cantonment is a cantonment located in the northern part of Dhaka, Bangladesh. The headquarters of the Bangladesh Army, and Air Force are situated within the cantonment which combined form the Armed Forces of Bangladesh. The Cantonment is located on the north-east end of the Dhaka metropolis.

The Padma Multipurpose Bridge, commonly known as the Padma Bridge, is a two-level road-rail bridge across the Padma River, the main distributary of the Ganges in Bangladesh. It connects Louhajang Upazila of Munshiganj and Zazira Upazila of Shariatpur and a small part of Shibchar Upazila of Madaripur, linking the less developed southwest of the country to the northern and eastern regions. The bridge was inaugurated at morning on 25 June 2022 by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Mymensingh Cantonment is a military installation situated at the heart of Mymensingh. It was formally headquartered the 19th Infantry Division of Bangladesh Army. Currently it has the headquarters of Army Training and Doctrine Command, which consists of its Battle Group within the cantonment. The 77th Infantry Brigade under the 19th Infantry Division is also located in this cantonment. The first General Officer Commanding of ARTDOC was Major General Md Zia-Ur-Rahman.
Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan is a retired Bangladeshi general who served as the Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army from 2012 to 2015. He took office of army chief at 25 June 2012 and retired on 25 June 2015. He joined Bangladesh Military Academy on 19 March 1976 and was commissioned on 30 November 1976 in the Corps of Infantry. Iqbal had a diversified and fine mix of all three types of appointment available in army. During 39 years in Bangladesh Army, He commanded three infantry battalions, an infantry brigade and three divisions. He also served as chief of general staff, colonel staff of a division, and platoon commander of Bangladesh Military Academy. He participated in Operation Desert Storm and received 'Liberation of Kuwait Medal'.
Ramu Cantonment is a cantonment located in Ramu of Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. It is the headquarter of 10th Infantry Division of Bangladesh Army. The area of the cantonment is 3000 acres.
Chattogram Cantonment is situated near Bayezid Bostami of Chattogram, Bangladesh. It is the headquarters of 24th Infantry Division.
Abu Taher Mohammad Haider, Bir Uttom was a Bangladesh Army officer and recipient of Bir Uttom, the second highest military award in Bangladesh. He fought in the Bangladesh Liberation War as the second-in-command of the K force under Khaled Mosharraf. Later he became the sector commander of sector-2 from 22 September 1971. After the assassination of the President of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujib in a military coup; he joined a counter coup led by his former commander Major General Khaled Mosharraf. He was killed in a situation marred with confusion along with Khaled Mosharraf on 7 November 1975 by proponents of a counter coup led by Colonel Abu Taher.

Abu Mayeen Ashfakus Samad was an officer of the Bangladesh Army from its first Batch. He was killed in the Bangladesh Liberation War and was awarded the second highest gallantry award of Bangladesh, Bir Uttam.
Mohammad Ziauddin, BU is a retired Bangladeshi military officer, who was the Commanding Officer of the 1st East Bengal Regiment during the Bangladesh Liberation War. He was awarded the Bir Uttom, the country's second highest gallantry award for his outstanding bravery in the Liberation War. His certificate number was 22.
