Home and studio single artist museums expand on the historic tradition of preserving European artist's studios. [2] The Fondation Monet Giverny in France, where Monet lived and worked from 1883 until his death in 1926, maintains and shares with the public his famous gardens, home, studio and some of his masterpieces. Home and studio single artist museums "can take on the character of a pilgrimage site, whether that's due to the intense focus of its collections or to circumstances that grant an artist's ephemera the status of relics." In 2021, the City of Oslo, where Edvard Munch lived and worked, opened a purpose-built museum on the waterfront dedicated to the creator of the infamous painting The Scream. It was a hundred years after Edvard Munch bequeathed his works to Oslo and initiated discussions about a future museum, [5] that the architectural firm Estudio Herreros designed MUNCH in Bjorvika. At 26,313 meters (more than 280,000 square feet) the new MUNCH is one of the world's largest museums devoted to a single artist. [6]

Founded in 1987, ARS is a member of the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers and as such represents in the United States the intellectual property rights interests of over 122,000 visual artists and estates of visual artists from around the world.
Taschen Basic Art is a best selling art collection books, published by Taschen, starting in 1985. Each book looks at a different artist, with a biography, and illustrations of their work. The books are published as affordable hardcover books of 21 x 26 cm. As of 2022, 78 titles had been published. Similar series entitled Taschen Basic Architecture, Taschen Basic Cinema and Taschen Basic Photographies were started after the success of the Basic Art series.
Claude Monet painted several series of nearly 100 impressionist oil paintings of different views of the Thames River in the autumn of 1899 and the early months of 1900 and 1901 during stays in London. One of these series consists of views of the Palace of Westminster, home of the British Parliament, and he began the first of these paintings at about 15.45 on 13 February 1900. All of the series' paintings share the same viewpoint from Monet's window or a terrace at St Thomas' Hospital overlooking the Thames and the approximate canvas size of 81 cm × 92 cm. They are, however, painted during different times of the day and weather conditions.

The Frida Kahlo Museum, also known as the Blue House for the structure's cobalt-blue walls, is a historic house museum and art museum dedicated to the life and work of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. It is located in the Colonia del Carmen neighborhood of Coyoacán in Mexico City. The building was Kahlo's birthplace, the home where she grew up, lived with her husband Diego Rivera for a number of years, and where she later died in a room on the upper floor. In 1957, Diego Rivera donated the home and its contents in order to turn it into a museum in Frida's honor.
