Southlake Town Square is a shopping precinct located in the city of Southlake, in the U.S. state of Texas. Owned and managed by Kite Realty Group.

History

The plans to develop open pastures into an upscale downtown for the City of Southlake began in the 1990s. Shortly after plans were approved by the city council, Cooper & Stebbins began developing phase I of the Southlake Town Square master plan. Phase I consisted of 250,000 sq ft (23,000 m2) of the Southlake Town Hall, City of Southlake Public Library, a signature square with extensive landscaping, Rustin Park with a gazebo and pond, four blocks of retail with office overhead, and the only Post Office in the area. In 2006, Cooper & Stebbins opened phase II of Southlake Town Square.

In 2015, Granite Properties got the green light to build a seven-story office building east of North Carroll Boulevard. [1] In 2020, Macy's chose Southlake Town Square to open its first Market by Macy’s. [2]

Description

Centered on Southlake's Town Hall, Southlake Town Square is incorporating Southlake Town Hall, Southlake Municipal Court, Southlake Public Library, Southlake DPS Headquarters, single-family residential, over 100 stores, 27 eateries, three parks, medical offices, and a Hilton luxury boutique hotel.

As of August 2022, the mall is owned by Sand Hill Property Co. and is almost entirely vacant, with Cupertino Ice Center, Bowlmor Lanes, Benihana, and Fremont Union High School (FUHSD) Adult & Community Education as the only remaining tenants, all in the section to the east of Wolfe Road. The larger western portion of the main mall structure was demolished in August 2019 and the pedestrian overpass was demolished in March 2020; plans for the site include a mixed-use development consisting of office space, housing, and retail.

Estrella Falls is a planned regional shopping mall and mixed-use complex in Goodyear, Arizona, about 20 miles west of downtown Phoenix. Two segments of the planned development, first proposed in 2005, have opened: a retail power centre called The Market at Estrella Falls, and a multiplex theater, Harkins Estrella Falls 16. Other parts of the site have been replanned and construction of the Goodyear Civic Square at Estrella Falls, to include a new civic center for the city, is expected to begin in 2021.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Sunnyvale Town Center</span>

Sunnyvale Town Center was a two-level shopping mall located in Sunnyvale, California, USA. It opened in 1979 on the site of much of the city's downtown, and was anchored by Macy's, Montgomery Ward, and later, J.C. Penney. Target moved in when Montgomery Ward closed. By the early 2000s, the mall had failed financially and only the Target and Macy's stores remained open. Work on a mixed-use development to replace the mall was stalled by a legal dispute from 2009 to 2015, with most buildings incomplete, but resumed after the city reached an agreement with new developers in mid-2016. By the end of 2020, a multi-screen movie theater and a supermarket had been built and opened in addition to most of the residential buildings; as of January 2021, replacement plans were going forward for a group of lots including the site of Macy's, which closed in 2019. Much of the area has now been rebranded as CityLine Sunnyvale.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Sugar Land Town Square</span>

Sugar Land Town Square is a 1,400,000 square feet (130,000 m2), 32 acres (13 ha) office and shopping complex in Sugar Land, Texas, United States. The complex, developed by Planned Community Developers Ltd. (PCD), owned by Sugarland Properties Inc., and located at the intersection of Interstate 69/U.S. Highway 59 and Texas State Highway 6, includes Sugar Land's City Hall and the corporate headquarters of Minute Maid, CVR Energy and the North American operations of the Cosentino Group. The development, a part of the First Colony development, has office space, condominiums, retail stores, restaurants, and a hotel. Sugar Land Town Square is located 19 miles (31 km) from Downtown Houston.

CityPlace Burlington was a formerly enclosed shopping mall. Located on the Church Street Marketplace open-air mall in Burlington, Vermont, United States, it opened in 1976. The mall's anchor stores were Macy's and L.L.Bean. The western portion of the mall closed in fall 2017 for redevelopment. The eastern portion remains standing but shuttered as of 2022.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Metcalf South Shopping Center</span>

Metcalf South Shopping Center was a shopping mall in Overland Park, Kansas. It opened in 1967, near a large, unique department store called the French Market, which later became a strip mall anchored by Kmart and Hancock Fabrics. The Metcalf South mall itself originally featured two main floors of retail space, although later a third floor of retail space was added, which in recent years became home to office space. It featured two anchor stores, later taken over by Macy's. Sears and the Glenwood Arts movie theater remained open in later years, while Macy's announced the closure of its Metcalf South store in January 2014.

Paradise, formerly named Paradise Circus, is the name given to an area of approximately 7 hectares in Birmingham city centre between Chamberlain and Centenary Squares. The area has been part of the civic centre of Birmingham, England since the 19th century when it contained buildings such as the Town Hall, Mason Science College, Birmingham and Midland Institute buildings and Central Library. The site was redeveloped from 1960 to 1975 into the present Paradise Circus based within a roundabout on the Inner Ring Road system containing a new Central Library and School of Music. From 2015, Argent Group will redevelop the area into new mixed use buildings and public squares.
