Thabeikkyin Township (Tha Pate Kyin Township) is a township of Pyin Oo Lwin District in the Mandalay Region of Burma. It is the northernmost township in Pyin Oo Lwin District and, although it primarily lies on the east bank (left bank) of the Irrawaddy, it has a small enclave on the western bank extending as far as the village of Gagalaw, [1] near the town of Baw in Katha District, Sagaing Region. [2] On the south it borders Singu Township, on the east, Mogote Township and further north Shan State, while it abuts Tigyaing Township of Sagaing Region to the north. [3]

To the east it is bordered by Shan State and in part by the Chaung Magyi. It goes north as far as the town of Dakaung where it adjoins Htigyaing Township, Katha District in Sagaing Region. Its western boundary, is for the most part the Irrawaddy, but a very small portion of Thabeikkyin Township is west of the Irrawaddy, near the town of Baw in Sagaing Region. Yenatha or Yentha is a village in Madaya Township, Pyin Oo Lwin District, in the Mandalay Region of central Burma. It is located 7 miles northeast of Madaya, connected by the National Highway 31. The Japanese were reported to have "put up pockets of resistance" at Yenatha during World War II. The Madaya River flows nearby to the south and joins the Irrawaddy River as well as the Yenatha Canal as part of the Mandalay Canal network. The Yenatha Irrigation Scheme has been funded by the Asian Development Bank, who recognizes the importance and potential of agriculture and fisheries in the area. The canal involves a pump irrigation scheme and cost some 9,900,000 kyat to build. A Leprosy hospital lies to the south of Yenatha.

Pyin-O-Lwin Bird Sanctuary

Pyin-O-Lwin Bird Sanctuary is a protected area in Myanmar's Pyinoolwin Township in Mandalay Region covering an area of 127.25 km2 (49.13 sq mi). It was gazetted in 1918 and spans an elevation of 975–1,210 m (3,199–3,970 ft). It is one of four protected wetlands.
