The Thailand Open was a professional tennis tournament played on indoor hard courts. It was part of the ATP World Tour 250 series of the ATP Tour. It was held annually in Bangkok, Thailand, in the third week of September, since 2003.

Contents

From 2005 to 2007, a WTA Tier III, the PTT Bangkok Open, was also held in the region before being discontinued.

Roger Federer is the only man to have won the singles competition more than once, in 2004 and 2005, while Andy Ram and Jonathan Erlich are the only doubles pair to have won the competition multiple times, in 2003 and 2006. In 2007, Sonchat Ratiwatana and Sanchai Ratiwatana became the first Thai champions of the event, winning in the final against Wimbledon doubles champion Michaël Llodra, and partner Nicolas Mahut. In November 2013 the ATP announced that the tournament would be relocated to Shenzhen, China. [1]

Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi is a Pakistani professional tennis player who specialises in doubles. He is the only Pakistani player ever to reach a Grand Slam final, having done so in both men's and mixed doubles at the 2010 US Open, alongside Rohan Bopanna and Květa Peschke respectively. Qureshi has also reached seven further major semifinals across the two disciplines. He reached his career-high doubles ranking of world No. 8 in June 2011, and has won 18 titles on the ATP Tour, including the 2011 Paris Masters and 2013 Miami Open, with Bopanna and Jean-Julien Rojer respectively. Latisha Chan, formerly known by her Chinese name Chan Yung-jan, is a Taiwanese tennis player who is a former world No. 1 in doubles. Sonchat Ratiwatana, nicknamed Ton is a professional tennis player from Thailand. In 2007, Sonchat and his twin brother Sanchai Ratiwatana won their first ATP doubles title in Bangkok in their home country. In the final, the team beat 2007 Wimbledon men's doubles winner Michaël Llodra and 2007 U.S. Open men's doubles semifinalist Nicolas Mahut. He reached his highest doubles ranking at world number 39 as of 28 April 2008. He plays right-handed and turned professional in 2004. He and his twin brother played in their first grand slam tournament during the Australian Open in 2008, where they lost to the eventual finalist pairing of Arnaud Clément & Michaël Llodra of France in the first round.

The 2007 Thailand Open was a tennis tournament played on indoor hard courts. It was the 5th edition of the Thailand Open, and was part of the International Series of the 2007 ATP Tour. It took place at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, from September 24 through September 30, 2007.

It took place at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, from 22 September through 30 September 2012. Richard Gasquet won the singles title.
