The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is a pickup truck racing series owned and operated by the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR), and is the only series in NASCAR to race production pickup truck-based stock cars. The series is one of three national divisions of NASCAR, ranking as the third tier behind the second-tier NASCAR Xfinity Series and the top level NASCAR Cup Series.

Jonathan Thomas Benson Jr. is an American retired stock car racing driver and the son of former Michigan modified driver John Benson Sr. Benson has raced across NASCAR's three national series, and his career highlights include the 1993 American Speed Association AC-Delco Challenge series championship, the 1995 NASCAR Busch Series championship, the 1996 NASCAR Winston Cup Series Rookie of the Year Award, and the 2008 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship.

The TSport 200 is a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park in the suburb of Clermont, Indiana, located west of Indianapolis. It was held each year starting in 1995 until 2011 and returned to the Truck Series schedule in 2022. The event has always been held on the same weekend as the NASCAR Cup Series Verizon 200 weekend at the nearby Indianapolis Motor Speedway, similar to the IndyCar Road to Indy Carb Night Classic serving the same purpose for the Indianapolis 500. From 1995 to 2000, the race was held on Thursday night. From 2001 to 2011, and again in 2022, the race was held on Friday night.
The Clean Harbors 250 is a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Richmond Raceway. The race was initially held from 1995 to 2005 before being removed from the schedule in 2006. The race returned to the Truck Series schedule 14 years later in 2020. In the race's first stint on the Truck Series schedule, it was 200 laps. When it returned in 2020, the distance was 250 laps.
The Craftsman 150 is a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race that takes place at Phoenix Raceway. The race has been the last race of the year for the Truck Series since 2020.
The Baptist Health Cancer Care 200 is an annual 200-mile (321.869 km) NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race held at the Homestead–Miami Speedway in Homestead, Florida. The race began as a 250-mile race in 1996, but beginning with the 2002 season, the race was shortened by 50 miles.

The Lucas Oil 250 was a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series stock car race held at Mesa Marin Raceway, in Bakersfield, California. One of the inaugural events of the series from its 1995 season, it was one of two races at the track in 1995, and then was the series' lone annual event at the track from 1996 to 2001, then after skipping the 2002 season was run once more in the spring of 2003, the series' final visit to the track. In addition, the track hosted the first series exhibition race in 1994, a 20-lap, 10 miles (16.1 km) event won by P. J. Jones. Points-paying events were 200 laps in 1995, 300 laps from 1996 to 1999, and 250 laps from 2000 to 2003; the event changed from running in the fall to a spring race in 1999.
Tricon Garage, formerly known as David Gilliland Racing, DGR-Crosley, and Team DGR, is an American professional stock car racing team that competes in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. The team was founded in early 2017 when racing team owners David Gilliland and Bo LeMastus came together to form a collaborative effort from their respective teams, David Gilliland Racing and Crosley Sports Group, known as DGR-Crosley. DGR-Crosley fielded Toyotas in 2018 and 2019 before announcing its switch to Ford starting in 2020. The team reverted to the David Gilliland Racing name in 2021 as Johnny Gray became a co-owner. Former co-owner and driver Bo LeMastus remained with the team in a marketing and sponsorship capacity.

The race was held on Friday, August 20, 2021 in Madison, Illinois at World Wide Technology Raceway. The race was extended from 160 laps to 163 due to a NASCAR overtime finish. After dominating most of the race, Sheldon Creed of GMS Racing would win the race and lock himself into the Round of 8. To fill the rest of the podium, Matt Crafton and Ben Rhodes, both from ThorSport Racing would finish 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

The race took the scheduled 160 laps to complete. At race's end, Sheldon Creed of GMS Racing would pass the dominating Todd Gilliland late in the race to win the race, the third of his career and the season. To fill the rest of the podium, Brett Moffitt of GMS Racing and Austin Hill of Hattori Racing Enterprises finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

This was Heim's second career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win, and his second of the season. Enfinger and Ty Majeski both dominated the entire race, leading 65 and 55 laps. To fill out the podium, Christian Eckes, driving for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing, and Stewart Friesen, driving for Halmar Friesen Racing, would finish 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

Cole Custer, driving for JR Motorsports, would hold off the field on the final restart with five laps to go, earning his second career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win, and his first of the season. Matt Crafton and pole-sitter Erik Jones had dominated the majority of the race, leading 49 and 84 laps, before being involved in late-race incidents. To fill out the podium, Spencer Gallagher, driving for GMS Racing, and Johnny Sauter, driving for ThorSport Racing, would finish 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

The race took the scheduled 160 laps to complete. Corey Heim, driving for Tricon Garage, continues to show his dominance in the Truck Series, and led the final 65 laps of the race to earn his ninth career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win, and his fourth of the season. Heim would also claim the $50,000 bonus prize after winning the second Triple Truck Challenge race. Pole-sitter Ty Majeski won both stages and led 43 laps, but fell back in the final stage to finish 4th. To fill out the podium, Christian Eckes, driving for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing, and Nick Sanchez, driving for Rev Racing, would finish 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
