The Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors (Finnish : Julkisten ja hyvinvointialojen liitto, JHL) [1] [2] is a trade union representing workers in the public sector and welfare services, in Finland.

The union was founded on 22 November 2005, with the merger of three unions: [3] [1]

Three other unions, which had been affiliated to the Joint Organisations of State Employees, transferred to the JHL, while maintaining separate identities: [3] [1]

All the unions were affiliated to the Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions, and the JHL also affiliated. With 230,000 members, it was the biggest union in Finland. In 2008, the Non-Commissioned Officers' Union merged into the JHL, while the Railway Workers' Union joined at the start of 2012. [3] [1]

Trade unions in India are registered and file annual returns under the Trade Union Act (1926). The Confederation of Professional Employees is a national trade union centre, the umbrella organisation for 12 trade unions in Sweden that organise professional and other qualified employees in both the private and the public sectors. The affiliated trade unions represent about 1.2 million employees. In 2018, the TCO affiliated unions made up 37% of all active trade union members in Sweden, making the confederation the second largest of Sweden's three major confederations. The largest TCO affiliate is Unionen with 551,000 active members in 2018. TCO is independent and not affiliated to any political party in Sweden. TCO is an affiliate of the European Trade Union Confederation and Eurocadres.

The Queensland Council of Unions (QCU) is a representative, an advocacy group, or peak body, of Queensland trade union organisations, also known as a labour council, in the Queensland, Australia. As of 2020, 26 unions and 13 regional branches were affiliated with the QCU. The QCU represents unions covering around 350,000 Queensland workers. It is affiliated with the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU). Its offices are located in the suburb of South Brisbane, Queensland. As a peak body for the Queensland trade unions, the objective of the QCU is to achieve industrial, social and political justice for Queensland workers. The management structure of the QCU is made up of a committee of management and an executive of representatives comprised from affiliated unions.

It represents the workers in the energy, water and waste sectors, health and social services and local, regional and central government in all European countries.
