The university library was established in 2000 with a meagre collection of 279 books. At present, the library holds the collection on different streams of humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and developing sciences. Its collection has reached up to 41,387 volumes of books and 92 learned journals besides 5 daily newspapers and 12 other periodicals. The library serves faculty members, supporting staff, research scholars and more than 50,000 students spread all over Uttar Pradesh. It is the apex body to provide library and information services to its students and others. A regional library at Allahabad Regional Centre has opened as its branch library. It is also in planning to establish regional libraries at other region, Sector – F, Phaphamau, Allahabad. The librarian is Dr. T.N. Dubey.

The University of Allahabad is a collegiate central university located in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India. Governor of North-Western Provinces Sir William Muir in 1876, who suggested the idea of a Central University at Prayagraj, which later evolved to the present university. Purushottam Das Tandon was a freedom fighter from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. He is widely remembered for his opposition to the partition of India, as well as efforts in achieving the Official Language of India status for Hindi. He was customarily given the title Rajarshi. He was popularly known as UP Gandhi. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, in 1961.

Gautam Buddha University ("GBU") is a university established by the Uttar Pradesh Gautam Buddha University Act 2002 and came into existence in 2008. It is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 12-B and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with B+ grade. It is located in Greater Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar in Uttar Pradesh, India. It is one of Uttar Pradesh's state government universities which commenced its first academic session in the year 2008. The university campus is spread over 511 acres (207 ha) in Greater Noida and offers Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral degrees in Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Applications, Biotechnology and Buddhist Studies and is mainly focused on research.

Its rock art gallery has the largest collection of prehistoric paintings displayed in India dating from 14,000 B.C to 2000 B.C. The museum, using solar power system, has become the first museum in the country to become self-reliant in power generation. The Allahabad Museum is centrally located in the Civil Lines area of the city in a lush green garden at Chandrashekhar Azad Park, popularly known as Company Bagh. It is about 3 km away from the Allahabad railway junction and almost equidistant from three different Railway Stations such as Prayag, Rambagh and Prayagraj junction and about 12 km away from Prayagraj Airport.
The history of Uttar Pradesh the Northern Indian state, stretches back technically to its formation on 1 April 1937 as the North-Western Provinces of Agra and Awadh, but the region itself shows the presence of human habitation dating back to between 85,000 and 73,000 years ago. He was best known for his early work ‘Karyalaya Nirdeshika’ for which he received awards by the Government of India and Uttar Pradesh Government. He contributed as Hindi expert in the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Communications, the Government of India. He made significant contributions towards the development of Hindi language. He was the producer of the 'Braj-Bharati' program of Aakashwani, All India Radio, New Delhi. He had a multifaceted personality and had extensive knowledge of Hindi, Braj and English languages.
