Vilnius Combined Heat and Power Plant or Vilnius Power Plant-3 was a power plant in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Vilnius Combined Heat and Power Plant has a capacity of 603 MW heating power and 360 MW electric power. [1] It was considered the most polluting electric power plant in Lithuania. [2] As a consequence, Vilnius Combined Heat and Power Plant was closed in 2016. [3] In 2016 a new waste-to-energy Vilnius Biofuel Power Plant was built next to the CHP plant.

The Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant is a decommissioned two-unit RBMK-1500 nuclear power station in Visaginas Municipality, Lithuania. It was named after the nearby city of Ignalina. Due to the plant's similarities to the infamous Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in both reactor design and lack of a robust containment building, Lithuania agreed to close the plant as part of its agreement of accession to the European Union. Unit 1 was closed in December 2004; Unit 2, which accounted for 25% of Lithuania's electricity generating capacity and supplied about 70% of Lithuania's electrical demand, was closed on December 31, 2009. Proposals have been made to construct a new nuclear power plant at the site, but such plans have yet to come to fruition.

LEO LT AB or Lithuanian Electricity Organization was a national energy holding company in Lithuania. The company owned shares of Lithuania's three major electric power production and distribution companies. It was established in early 2008 to raise funds for the construction of the planned Visaginas Nuclear Power Plant after close down of Ignalina Plant, and Lithuania–Sweden and Lithuania–Poland power connections. The decision to liquidate the company, mired in controversies and attacked by critics, was reached by the shareholder of LEO LT on 4 September 2009.

Vilnius Intermodal Terminal is a first railway dry port in Vilnius, Lithuania. Terminal is located next to the Vaidotai railway station. The project was carried out by Lithuanian Railways, making use of support from the EU Cohesion Fund. This project worked to achieve one of the most important goals of the EU and Lithuania: to reduce roadway usage and transfer a large part of the burden of cargo transportation to railways.
