A city is one of the units of local government in the Philippines. All Philippine cities are chartered cities, whose existence as corporate and administrative entities is governed by their own specific municipal charters in addition to the Local Government Code of 1991, which specifies their administrative structure and powers. As of July 8, 2023, there are 149 cities.
Guimaras, officially the Province of Guimaras, is an island province in the Philippines located in the Western Visayas region. The capital is Jordan, while the largest local government unit for it is the municipality of Buenavista. The province is situated in Panay Gulf, between the islands of Panay and Negros. To the northwest is the province of Iloilo and to the southeast is Negros Occidental. The whole island is part of the Metro Iloilo–Guimaras, one of the twelve metropolitan areas of the Philippines.

The name itself should not to be confused with the country of Jordan, which had its capital at Amman. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 39,566 people, making it the third largest settlement in the province.
Iloilo City, officially the City of Iloilo, is a 1st class highly urbanized city in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines, located on the southeastern coast of the island of Panay. It is the capital city of the province of Iloilo, where it is geographically situated and grouped under the Philippine Statistics Authority, but remains politically independent in terms of government and administration. In addition, it is the center of the Iloilo–Guimaras Metropolitan Area, as well as the regional center and primate city of the Western Visayas region. According to the 2020 census, Iloilo City has a population of 457,626 people. For the metropolitan area, the total population is 1,007,945 people.

Its main office and headquarters are located at Florete Bldg., 2406 Nobel corner Edison Streets, Barangay San Isidro, Makati. It operates several stations across the country under the Bombo Radyo and Star FM brands. Currently, most of its stations are licensed to People's Broadcasting Service, Inc. (PBS), while a handful of its AM stations are licensed to Newsounds Broadcasting Network, Inc. (NBN). Consolidated Broadcasting System, Inc. (CBS) formerly served as licensee for some of its FM stations from 1992 until 2018, when PBS took over as their licensee, following the former's non-renewal.
Jaro is a district in Iloilo City, Philippines, located on Panay Island in the Western Visayas region. It is the largest district in terms of both area and population, with 130,700 people according to the 2020 census. Jaro merged with Iloilo City in the 1940s during the American administration in the Philippines. It is also the largest among the seven districts of Iloilo City. La Paz district and the present municipalities of Leganes and Pavia were historically part of Jaro before becoming independent.

It is the most densely populated district of all the seven districts of Iloilo City. It was originally a separate municipality before it became part of Iloilo through Act No. 719 of 1903. Molo's historical significance stems from its role as the Parián or Chinatown of Iloilo, where the Chinese residents of the city resided.
RatuJosefa Iloilovatu Uluivuda, was a Fijian politician who served as the 3rd President of Fiji from 2000 until 2009, excluding a brief period from 5 December 2006 to 4 January 2007. He held the traditional title of Tui Vuda, the paramount chief of the Vuda district in Ba Province on Fiji's northwest coast. Like many Fijian people, he rarely used his surname and was known simply as Josefa Iloilo. He announced on 28 July 2009 that he would be leaving office on 30 July. At the age of 88, he was the world's oldest head of state.
The Iloilo Science and Technology University is a state research university located in La Paz, Iloilo City, Philippines. Founded in 1905 under the American colonial government of the Philippines, it is mandated and chartered as a polytechnical university by the Philippine government to provide undergraduate and graduate courses in technology education, agriculture, fishery, engineering, arts and sciences, forestry, business, health, computer, criminology, nautical and short-term vocational-technical and other continuing courses. It attained its university status in 2013 renaming it to its present name, the Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U).

It is mandated to provide higher and advanced education and training in the fields of education, industrial technology, criminology, agriculture, fishery, hospitality management, engineering, sciences and information technology. It is also mandated to promote research, advanced studies, and progressive leadership in various fields. Its main campus is located in Estancia, Iloilo, Philippines. Prior to its present conversion as a university, it was called Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College. It was elevated to a university in 2022, through Republic Act No. 10597 as amended by Republic Act 11005, and upon confirmation by the Commission on Higher Education En Banc Resolution no. 222-2022 dated April 26, 2022.

Guimaras's at-large congressional district is the provincewide electoral district in Guimaras, Philippines. It was created ahead of the 1995 Philippine House of Representatives elections following its conversion into a regular province under the 1991 Local Government Code which was ratified in a 1992 plebiscite concurrent with that year's general election. Guimaras had been a sub-province of Iloilo since 1966 and was last represented as part of Iloilo's 2nd district in the House of Representatives from 1987 to 1995 and in earlier national legislatures from 1907 to 1972. It was also formerly included in the multi-member Region VI's at-large district for the Interim Batasang Pambansa from 1978 to 1984 and the multi-member Iloilo's at-large district for the Malolos Congress from 1898 to 1899 and for the Regular Batasang Pambansa from 1984 to 1986. The district is currently represented in the 18th Congress by Maria Lucille Nava of the PDP–Laban.
